There is the right place and the right time for expressing dissenting opinion. An announcement about someone passing away is simply not it. I don't know how else I could explain this. This is just basic decency.

Basically, I can guarantee that killing cookies would lead to 0% adoption of HTTP 2.0 forever, due to the same inertia that is holding Python 3 or IPv6 back. Doesn't matter if there's a better mechanism included that does the same

Yes but this can be exploited if a trusted backend server (which is much more common) gets compromised. Basically if you have nginx in front of Node and you manage to execute arbitrary code in Node you could use this as an attack vector to

I understand what your are saying yet I can't help but feel that you guys are being a bit unreasonable. You know what would be a dick move? If they killed the open source version and sued the current users of the open source license

BerkeleyDB was distributed with the "Sleepycat License" since 1996 which is similar to GPL in terms of permissiveness so it's not like BerkeleyDB has been distributed with a permissive license in the past. If the Sleepycat Li

I don't understand the sentiments in this thread. They own the thing. They do whatever they want with it. They have paid good money for it. Yet they have chosen to give it away as free software (with a license even Richard Stallman and

I've heard this argument several times and I disagree with it. Organizations are basically groups of people; it's entirely possible that some people in an organization are more competent than others. There could be extreme differe

Public transport in London is anything but cheap. It is simply the most expensive urban public transport system I know of in terms of cost of monthly passes (or travelcards). Currently a monthly travelcard in zones 1-2 is £116.80 ($177.30).
