What you are looking for is called Direct Primary Care. It exists in nearly every major city in the US at this point, and is very affordable. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=bGZaRnC1wNg to hear one doctor talk about how th

Personally, I find the recipe of kindness, honesty, laughter, generosity, loyalty, plus a bit of magic to be both practically effective and somewhat philosophically profound.

Happens in real life, too. The income level of the top 10% and the top 1% and the top 0.1% are relatively stable in aggregate, but who is in each of those categories changes drastically over time.

I don't have special knowledge of the particulars of the internship, but characterizing the effect as creating a ghetto makes sense to me, and I can try to explain why. Have you ever heard the argument that donating free clothing to Af

That's a great loss. Freedom and rights are wonderful things. But as I see them used to justify censorship, I can't help but think that's exactly what's happening: they're being used . I don't know about you,

That's how I feel about it, too. There is no war. Women are not oppressed, men are not oppressors. We're all just people with problems who need support and compassion. Besides being morally wrong, a tribal approach is limiting.

This argument is exactly analogous to the argument that privacy is for people with something to hide. There's a very good response to that argument, and it applies here as well. It runs thus: sometimes society is wrong. Every advancem

That doesn't seem like a mystery to me. The argument in favor of tabs boils down to "tab damage won't happen". The argument in favor of spaces boils down to "tab damage will happen". I know which of those tw
