There is some dish detergent that advertises it cleans dishes up to 100% clean. I guess they figure showing “100%” is all that is needed and the dumb public won’t question it further. It’s still an insulting ad.

These ideas interest me. How does this happen practically? All money is devalued? An end to ownership of everything? All infrastructure destroyed and if not, who would keep it running and why? After the fall of the Soviet Union are thi

You could self host with your OS’s web server and a dynamic DNS service pointing to your home computer.

Why not use a dynamic DNS service instead? I’ve been using dyn.com (now oci.dyn.com) for years and it has worked great. A bonus is many home routers have support built in.

I’m trying to decide how outraged to be about this. When I walk through my yard or the forest I’m also likely crushing bugs, ant hills, etc. Is it the same thing if that ant hill is old or big? Is it a big deal because it’s a cruise ship

Yes, I left a job after it turned out that the company was basically a massive email address harvester, personal information data broker, and spam company. Bunch of very slimy people for the most part.

Until elephants gain rights in law that conflict with human rights. It seems all of life is some sort of competition for resources.

I found this thought provoking. What happens to society with no more shared culture? Or is that silly because there is still so much we have in common (health, school, grocery shopping, being part of a family, etc)?

As a programmer I fully understand and even support what you suggest, but I’m not sure it will ever work. My mother, wife, good friend, etc - none of them can grok what a computer program is, or the file system. I’ve tried and tried for m

I really don’t know, but could there be 100 other substances as dangerous and easy to mix/administer as cyanide? There must be some cut off since you can’t test for everything. I’d be interested to know what that test matrix/dec

I think you won at life and I’m genuinely happy for you. Though I’m of a similar mindset, circumstances don’t allow me to do similarly, but it’s not the money.

That’s a good way to put it. Short term is dominated by mood/PR/talking heads, etc, but long term seems more about fundamentals. A company not making money can survive and pull a lot of stunts but sooner or later investors want

Is there a way to teach reading, which increases reading test scores, that is bad? I’m having a hard time imagining what that would look like. Just because someone comes up with a pithy saying that some people call a “law” doesn’t make it
