Office 2016 really sucks compares to 2013. It feels like a browser app. Is it UWP?

It seems to me that some view the blockchain as free and permanent digital storage. That’s a problem.

My father always taught me you earn money with your back (unskilled labor), your mind (skills) or your money (investments). Everyone can do unskilled labor so supply and demand dictates it will pay less and obviously be more physically dem

I totally disagree. I personally don’t like cities, congestion and apartments. I would pay more to stay in my home with a yard. Most home owners aren’t in homes because of lower costs - this meets our living style priorities best.

I'm not familiar with threads in javascript, but the expression could be true (though mighty hard to bring it about) in many multi-threaded languages.

I don't mean to be rude, but you need to get out of your bubble and see how the rest of the world lives. I hope you're living your dream, but everyone has different dreams, constraints, etc and they're not all inferior becau

It doesn't matter that I don't like it. Every addition to the blockchain imposes costs in storage, backup and transmission - forever. Nothing gets removed, so it just keeps growing. For property records that's a cost worth

IMHO, this reflects all that is bad about blockchains. So many systems around the world having to forever track nonsense like who owns a fake kitty. This is bloat. Throw it in a database that is owned by a virtual-kitty-selling company.

I might believe that stance if you can think of any human scenario where there is value and nobody tries to take advantage of it. We can’t have nice things/utipia as long as some people are evil.

That's a really great insight. The fact that such good intentions often lead to bigger problems is what concerns me about UBI - it will surely have huge second-order effects. I'm not sure what they will be, but rent control in a

Many SEO tips, like using H1 tags, make the site more usable IMO. I imagine removing the top million leaves you with some pretty ugly sites. I’d like to remove just the top 10K or 100K.

Is it really cheating? What they are doing is well known and published, with one side effect that didn’t get rolled back (which seems more like a bug). At least that’s what I’ve understood from what I’ve read.

I don’t understand the Intel hate. It’s not like their engineers are dumb or lazy. This exploit is very hard to imagine before now. And it’s there because chip makers were trying to wring out more performance. It’s unfortunate if anythi

Thank you for that perspective - that makes sense. I hope there is an easy way to pin an entire site and not page-by-page so, for example, a full documentation set could be kept.

I'm having a hard time imagining this at scale. I have a few thousand web pages on my site, blog posts, etc. Most of it won't be seen in any given day. So I have to pin it as it's realistically unlikely anyone else will. N

Great explanation - thank you. One thing I don’t understand is how this can be exploited from javascript. Does it have timing primitives so fine it can tell the difference between a memory lookup served from memory va from cache?

I agree completely. A shared ledger is a great idea, but not when anyone can write almost anything into it. Then it starts turning into some sort of massive torrent that has to be synced around the world.

Stop losses don't protect you if the fall is rapid enough and there are no buyers. Your order simply won't get executed (at least not where you want it). That's what I think will happen if the Bitcoin bubble bursts. Being
