I’m uncomfortable being out of earshot/sight of the cooktop while it’s on. What if a fire starts?

I’ve had deja vu a few times in my life but one time it happened with enough time beforehand that I wrote down what was about to happen and showed it to a coworker. Then we both sat and watched it happen exactly as I described. It involve

If my great-grandparents 10 generations back didn’t copulate at just the right time (and millions of other interactions since then don’t line up), the chances of a “me” existing over there are nil. Same for all of us. So maybe there is an

It’s also bad because the world needs to get the truth into them. Russia is blocking a lot of sites but discussion about the war is all over. Cutting them off leaves them with just one information source - the Russian government.

This is like the old saying that the best time to plant a tree was 20 years ago. The second best time is today. No one can change the past, so shoring up defenses now is better than waiting until later, especially when the need might be mo

I don’t understand how. If I record that my password for Google is xyzzy, but in reality it’s xyzzy123, and 123 is part of every password but not recorded anywhere (other than my mind), how would they work that out? They’d just see that n

Sometimes it is making other software easier to use. I have a buddy that works with traffic lights for a city. Some of the software they use has an awful UI. The city would gladly pay a few thousand for an add-in/plugin/whateve

In many TV shows it ends up being the person that first gets into the room (supposedly after the person is already dead, but not in reality) that does the killing. I.e. police, family member, medical staff, etc.

I do the same thing but worry about a nation state or rich enough hackers to just take over the project and add nefarious code. I’ll never audit the code and make sure it produces the binary I get from the Apple store. So I’ve started add

I wonder if these numbers are the amount sprayed on a field/orchard (I assume?) or somehow measures how much was absorbed by the trees/plants which would be less. What I’m getting at, is where does the water not taken in by the p

I often upvote the heavily downvoted comments for that reason - they usually make a good point, even if it’s unpopular. And, I find I often agree with the unpopular post anyway :$

It’s probably not the same productivity rate for each hour though. Those first 3 are perhaps most productive followed by less for the next 3, less for the next and so on. So value is still produced in the later hours. At some point it mi

You also don’t have the time to recover should the startup fail. Because of that I think rich parents holds much more influence than having built up a safety cushion (retirement fund) later in life. The risks are much much higher in that

You make a good point, but I have to admit, as someone in my 50’s, I also chuckled that some thought they were old at 35. I guess time changes all of our perspectives a day at a time.

I always wonder about security with these cloud management companies. Instead of the KGB/NSA/hackers trying to break into AWS etc, they go for a cloud management company and get access to lots of companies. I’m not sure how it c

Raising prices, especially for B2B, is almost always the right thing to do. People used to chuckle at my pricing, which made them think I wasn’t serious. Until people start complaining about the price, it needs to go higher. You are prob

Experiment for a month or two with a price at $10 or $15. You might be surprised to find sales increase with a higher price (to a point of course).

IMHO you could very easily raise the price to $15 and probably not lose any sales. Having a low price still has to overcome the concern of trusting your credit card to some website. Once someone has overcome that hurdle, 8 vs 15 is a tiny

If you’re selling B2B, it might be worth offering both perpetual (with yearly support & maintenance) and monthly subscriptions. Some businesses only want to do one or the other - might as well make it easy for them to give you money!
