During the current IC shortage, I've been buying quantities of assembled breakout boards that have chips I need and desoldering them. In many cases it's actually cheaper than buying the bare ICs at their normal price.

DNA is DNA, be it fragments or full genes, and regardless of the sequence, our bodies are pretty damn good at breaking down DNA we eat without directly incorporating it into our genomes. Would be pretty interesting if that weren't the

Yeah, you're basically scrambling things across an entire genome with no way to account for all of the random and unspecific changes that may occur. One thing to consider though is that our bodies have evolved to eat all sorts of DNA -
