This text succinctly summarizes what I struggled to express to some of my colleagues. It doesn't offer a solution but it neatly highlights the problem. A lot of attention is being paid to things like keyboards, mice, software used to w

I definitely prefer this over trackers that for some inexplicable reason have different flows for bugs, requests, API comments, features and what not. The "inbox" you speak of already exists: unlabelled issues are your inbox. :)

There are many different lines of products from IKEA. Even if they serve the same purpose (kallax and eket for example), the price is a pretty good indicator of the durability of the furniture and your ability to disassemble and reassemble

2020 is PERFECT for something that we assume will just hover around for some time. Because it's 2020 and I'm fully prepared that it will simply crash. ;)

Depends on the country and depends on the state. E.g. in California the basic overhead in terms of taxes payed by the employer is slightly below 10%. Then the personal income tax is 13%. You have to include other costs like matching 401k, m

We're talking costs, not pay. You have to pay taxes and provide various benefits to meet the legal requirements of employing someone.

I feel like the only thing that can save Fx at this point is a community-funded, community-led fork. The only problem is: this project would need a lot of monies, so unless there's a corporate sponsor (or sponsors) it's unlikely t

Sure thing. But this also changes the reference point. If the entire video game industry is THAT predatory by 2022, it's hard to single out Microsoft for that and hold me responsible for my optimism today. ;)

No Microsoft game has monetization as bad as Fallout 76. So whatever Bethesda does from now on can't be worse than what it does today. ;)

Probably depends on the franchise and will be decided on title by title basis. After all Minecraft is on many more platforms today than before the acquisition.

With those priorities in mind I'd probably start with RocksDB and build SQL engine on top. I'm really impressed with RocksDB performance, space requirements and feature set.

People who don't use Kali comment on whether move from one shell to another was right for the Kali users. This drive by commenting is sadly omnipresent in the open source world. OpenBSD uses CVS? They should use git. XServer? Why not W

Twitter is crap for posting text and, frankly, if someone if providing valuable insight that's a photo of a napkin - arguing about the delivery method is just rude. If you want the plain text, OCR that image and post it somewhere.
