I don't think I've seen anything covered by NYT in the past few moths to a year or two that wasn't misrepresenting things. BLM coverage, before that epi coverage, before that many other things (remember how they portrayed Nao

They do that (or used to at least). Each book has a single scanned copy that only a singe person can have "checked out" at any given time. There's a waiting line you sign up for.

Kernel has been ready for prime time for ages now. It's the distros - fragmentation and quality - that's still the problem.

One minute in and it's already humanity in a bottle. One person draws world map, another writes n-word across the African continent. Sigh.

Dos Navigator was such a great productivity tool! Guys who made it (Ritlabs) went on to develop TheBat! email client which was also pretty amazing.

I wouldn't rely on a confidence as a stand-in for skill. Maybe it's cultural, but I don't trust people who are extremely confident during interviews. Interviews are stressful experience, people who come across as super confid

This article is short on explaining the consequences. What steps will be taken to prevent virus from spreading at the facilities, people from getting sick and, as a result, ending up dead? I really hope that this doesn't boil down to &

The tl;dr of this article reads to me like "when building, make sure you know how to lobby local government to maximize private profits utilizing as much of public resources as possible". I did not see this coming. Outderegulating

All studies that point to it being airborne are from medical setting or are misrepresented in the media. For example there's a new one that circulates abbreviated to "air conditioned restaurants make SARS-CoV-19 airborne". Co

I'm tired of reading that it spreads through the air and so we should avoid indoor spaces where we share air. It spreads through droplets large enough for the gravity to pull them down relatively fast. It's not measles, you can&#x

Honest question: is there a single desktop manager that conducts usability studies and isn't guided by hunches and conventions? Or more broadly: any open source software that does?

It's down to monies. There's no hard limit on spending (yet) so larger teams can and do invest more. On top of that smaller teams have to buy some of the components from the larger ones and integrate those into their designs. This

1. There are no zero cost abstractions. But Rust ones are as close to zero as possible. You may not want to pay for these on the smallest Cortex M devices but I would sure take them over the pain that is debugging C code on stuff like TM4C1

Mobile terminal doesn't prevent you from doing that. :-) That's what I do if I want to skip on the "no, lemme pay" banter. What I find curious though is that there are places in Germany where one can pay using plastic. ;

This is not correct. Language is much more than words. At times you have social structure encoded e.g. via honorifics. You have concepts and phrases that derive from previous experiences. Whether you take Sapir-Whorf hypothesis for granted
