You don't have direct line to every successful developer on the planet when you work on a GPU. And even if you did, why would game developers drop everything for bugs in YOUR hardware?

Maybe. But it's more likely they're replacing shaders with game- or engine-specific workarounds for hardware bugs. Used to do exactly that in my first GPU driver job. The goal wasn't to cheat, but to fix issues in popular gam

If or when this happens, I hope we don't end up with millions of people who got the frist AZ shot and are left without access to the second dose.

Mainstream UK press has serious problem with TERFs, so my question was genuine: is my understanding correct, that the issue stems from someone linking to misgendering, dead naming article?

You could but you, obviously, don't have to. The problem is not about the content though, it's about linking to it. So someone linking to this old article if there are recent, better sources could very well be doing it malicious

I seriously doubt that. This is a claim I've seen in many places (unsubstantiated) but I find it hard to believe that her name is triggering bans. Dead name? Sure, I can believe that and, again, I have no problem with this.

Someone was banned from Reddit for linking to an article dead naming a trans woman. Did I get this right? If I did, what's the problem here, really?

If you have beefy objects representing, say, characters, and you only care about their position, you'll use 16 bytes of a 64 byte cache line. So for the "move everything to the right" use case you're wasting 75% of the b

Total Annihilation (1997), Thief (1998), Dungeon Siege (2002), and many others used ECS and their developers wrote about it long, long before Minecraft and others.

Short story: data is aligned in a way that favors batch processing. Less branching, great setup for SIMD or GPU processing.

Again, that's not the point. The point isn't that something has to be for the masses but that there's nothing in crypto that's appealing for the masses. ASN.1 is used by everyone but that doesn't mean it's appe

You're missing the point, which was "there's nothing for the masses". Interesting technology is not a selling point for the masses. Strong fundamentals are not a selling point for the masses. Whether there's a get r

Found two bugs, reported them, sent patches. It was as easy as it gets. The idea that forking a repo, pushing changes to your own copy, then posting a PR is simpler than posting a diff on a bug tracker is bizarre.
