So I see it mention that they were in trouble for deleting "potentiall incriminating" conversations. Are there any details or other articles that confirm the deleted messages were retrieved?

That's true as well. I recently deactivated my (unused for years) facebook account, but this is definitely something else to think about.

The problem is what they've learned is mostly to do with what icons (which they have no context for, never having used a computer or smartphone prior to this) they press to get certain results. And we teach them this over an audio call

So, I use WhatsApp as my primary source of communication. Knowing facebook owned it always made me a little nervous, but given that it was end-to-end encrypted, I figured Facebook wasn't getting any more from me then they would from al

Forgive what may be a not-fully-informed question/opinion, but isn't the issue that 3rd parties were able to see private information? Not public information? Like you send the same sequence of bytes that they do, but the differenc

Yep. I made mine private by default, but it is basically just a way to send a friend money, that if you leave it public to other friends, is just a way to share jokes. Paying a roommate for utilities but setting the description to the tongu

Just some quick napkin math: In 2015 the US Defense spending was estimated around $598 billion. [1] In 2014 we spent $12.7 million on the school lunch program. [2] By reducing the defense budget a little under 5%, we could triple the school

This makes sense! How will you evaluate whether a game is worth adding? Example: I went to add King Arthur's Gold, which is a mostly dead game (usually about 4-6 servers with population at a time). However, for my use case all I truly

So, I went in and tested it out, and it seems like certain games can't be added. Do you manually choose which games to support? If so, what do you do when a group/user wants to add a game that isn't in there? It seems like if

I was about to ask what happens to the 1 leftover vote, since it's not enough to give to anyone. I now recall that sqrt(1) = 1. I did not recall that 2 minutes ago.

So, would you mind helping me see if I understand quadratic voting correctly? Let's say there are 4 voters: A, B, C, D, voting on policies 1-10. Everyone gets a certain number of votes (say one per policy, so 10 total). Voter A only re

But people don't need AR-15s for home defense. Muskets would be fine for home defense, and coincidentally were what was standard at the time the 2nd amendment was passed. People don't need anything more than a musket/shotgun

I'm honestly not quite sure how to interpret this. To me the idea seems bonkers. Even if I didn't try to eat more plant than animal, it would seem bonkers. From what I've read, eating more meat is likely to increase the risk

That's a solid point, but it's hard to balance the value of information being easily accessible, as well as making sure we don't have starving writers chained to desks at medium.com (or other websites') offices. I'v

I didn't realize Medium had content behind an "account wall". I'd love to read the article (will probably sign up tomorrow) but kinda sad that this article is behind the wall, and will thus have more limited exposure.
