Yeah, why not go directly the route of custom HTML elements in Markdown anyway, since HTML inside Markdown is valid?

Is that an issue? There’s only one reasonable implementation of Typst too, and both AsciiDoc and Typst are fully supported by Pandoc, which supports a wide selection of writers (output formats).

The solution is to use any other better-defined languages with a cheat sheet like [1]. If you’re used to CommonMark features, this is all you need. [1]: https://docs.asciidoctor.org/asciidoc/latest/asciidoc-vs-mar.

The slow enshittification of every product touched by LLMs these last few years (ESPECIALLY by Microsoft, who goes all-in) kind of “disproves” your point. Reliable agent-coded development only seems to work for small codebases. (And it’s am

A couple of pretty good reasons (except the one about lexicons IMHO), but I don’t think it’s reasonable to believe the maker of a 15th standard was “right” about not using the previous 14s. As far as I understand, all the use cases describe

I just checked, I’m not using the feature but my current ISP still offers it: https://assistance.free.fr/articles/631 (10 GB FTP storage tied to the ISP-specific e-mail address).

I added something similar. Claude eventually ran a `rm -rf *´ on my own project. When I asked why it did that, it recognized it messed up and offered a very bad “apology”: “the irony of not following your safety instructions isn’t lost on m

Didn’t your ISP provide you with free FTP storage? The French ones did, at least.

I know it doesn’t answer your question, but: AsciiDoc. All major forges support it and it has the same features as all the other Markdown flavors combined.

No, the article’s title is definitely clickbait. The author didn’t teach his dog to vibe code games (that’s what the title on the blog is) – he taught his dog to be rewarded when he types random keystrokes on the keyboard. The vibe-coding i

No, there are ways to avoid working for adtech or tech support if you still have family or friends (I’m currently moving back to my parents’ place). But not everyone has this luck.

With the sorry state the software industry is currently in, I’m not surprised that developers would sell their soul in exchange for the peace of mind of being able to pay rent and food. Working for those companies does not make people “do w

Yes, that’s what non-consensual could mean here (it also encompasses consensual non-consent, to be accurate). This kind of content (illustrated & fictional) isn’t illegal in most jurisdictions, as far as I know. Small aside, consent als

Is “agentic browsing” really what the main population is asking for, or is it yet another push for LLM use similar to Microsoft putting “Copilot” in every single product of theirs? (I am guessing most of the HN crowd is not using Chrome bec

According to my (limited) testing, you can only control brightness when the transfer function used on the HDR content you see is HLG. When it is PQ, the luminance seems to be “absolute” and ignores the display’s brightness settings.
