I think hardware protection against EMFI isn’t important for consumer electronics or even commercial servers. 1. It requires physical access. 2. Password based disk encryption would still protect against EMFI attacks for data exfiltration.

There is a chance you might’ve been hacked. You would be surprised to see how easy it is to hack domestic routers. 1. Find and disinfect the devices, including the router. If you don’t have enough technical knowledge, then buy a new router.

One problem is that bot amount on the internet is now far larger than the golden days of internet advertising. Real-Life ads became competitive with internet advertising. In fact, they might be better for a large number companies. Unless th

This is pretty cool. I wonder if there is a similar way to reverse engineer the original prompts of GPT-3 based SaaS providers.

There is a real need for offline co-pilot alternative. Privacy concerns due to copilot makes it unusable for companies with closed source code. I’m hoping that eventually there will be a stable diffusion level solution in this field.

Currently this library can generate multiple images and upscale them through RealESRGAN: https://github.com/hlky/stable-diffusion If you are not using this library already, give it a shot. Also, I'm using Nvidia S

That’s weird, I got RTX3070 on Windows. Are you using 512x512 images or larger ones? Best workflow is to keep images close to 512x512, record the seed and then upscale.

It takes 3 seconds to generate 1 image with my GPU. I can find a good prompt within 30 minutes to 1 hour. My GPU can generate 100 images in 5 minutes. Out of those 100 images, 10 is very close to what I exactly meant at professional concept

I think you meant legal protections for the security researcher? I was talking about legal troubles for the Namecheap. Company can't encourage/allow security researchers to access private data of the users, at best this is against

No, this is illegal and can put namespace into huge trouble. Responsible Disclosure Programme needs to explicitly state that access to other users data is illegal and test/self owned accounts need to be used for security testing. This

Setting up dev env. in one day is normal, it normally shouldn’t take more than couple of hours at worst but how did they managed to publish a commit next day? What type of a code base was that, because normally an engineer should spend at l

I don’t buy that explanation. Democracy turned out to be easily manipulatable with large sums of money and media control. At this point, an average person can’t have much of an affect on how government is acting. Very few people can take a

There is a much better option for HN crowd: Buy a large/modern computer monitor and connect it to your homelab’s media server. Literally there is no need for a smart TV so long as you are capable of setting up a small homelab.

What makes humans special though? AI will be born on Earth so we will share that common trait with it, but perhaps one should have humility to accept that future doesn’t belong to a weak species like humans.

These people are very old though, and probably lived a great life with all the money they made. 28 year sentence at age 70+ is not really a huge amount of justice.

Humanity has to find a way to make individuals with psychopathic traits ineligible for positions of authority. Otherwise, cases like this will keep happening, and potentially end the civilisation some time soon.

It looks like AI generated art will be a huge boon for the indie games. Midjourney can definitely lower concept art costs by 5% to 20% as it stands. Nevertheless, AI generated art currently can’t fully eliminate real concept artists.

How fast are the compile speeds compared to C++? If Carbon can convert existing C++ code, still be human readable and have way faster compile speeds, then yeah it can kill C++. I think I’ll wait couple more years before trying though.

FYI, your setup is great if you don’t trust your ISP but it doesn’t provide any privacy. Public VPNs act as a mixer and hide your tracks. IP correlation is very easy nowadays, so persistent single connection to your own VPN won’t protect yo
