People with this line of critique against Tim Cook don't actually know how Apple works. By your own metrics Cook is Nadella. The stock more than doubled under his tenure and the installed base for Apple products has grown massively sin

Teams is winning because it's being bundled with Office 365. The business model and distribution lets them compete effectively with an inferior product. Slack doesn't have that luxury.

This is like saying that Apple can't collect 30% if you make your app in React Native rather than a purely native iOS app. It doesn't matter what technology you use, they're going to get 30% because they control the store.

It’s extremely silly that you (and others) are trying to say Tim Cook did something wrong when the actual article says he bent over backward to keep Jony in control.

The DETOUR Act empowers the FTC to do this, not the FCC. The FTC already has the responsibility of policing "unfair or deceptive acts or practices" and this is an extension of that. The bill is 13 pages long. There are affordances

If Congress legislates they aren't going to be prescribing UI design in the text of the bill. They will give the FTC rulemaking authority and they'll be the cop on the beat that digs into the weeds.
