Things that are not surprising take a while to propagate into the core institutional rules. Internet has enabled information sharing, and people have figured out how to educate themselves relatively recently, in historic terms. It is good n

This is probably an example of the non obvious shape of the reliability curve, which has a hump of failures early on, but then trails off. Effort to decrease reliability early on coincides with long term reliability.

There should be no guilt on either side. Sometimes putting time into investigating the stack trace isn't worth it for the user. However, reporting it still a good idea because the developer might recognize a regression or another angle

Of course, this might call into question the authenticity of their recently published research into state funded spyware. I'm sure it's just a coincidence the anonymous sources chose to speak after a decade of silence.

At least one thing I'm optimistic about is that by observing other semi-intelligent species, we can see that social behavior and cooperation is one of the driving forces of intelligence. There are different moralities, cruel to ours, b

Is there a good website that rates fans by power/noise/price? I don't actually care about the price much, I really want a quieter fan that won't make me turn up the music too loud to hear the details and wake anyone up.

This made me think. I can't actually agree that it's a matter of language primitives. It's very much about the logical complexity of sharing anything. It seems to be a fundamental, recurring theme in CS, data and logic. In a

I just finished reading and was going to say the same. It's not a logical error of the algorithm. The algorithm is not concerned with maximum index value, so it's an implementation detail.
