The same way you're not free being game in a religiously conservative population that did not undergo sexual revolution of the 60s. Gay people are not hunted and jailed like someone might want you believe. In regards to gay freedoms, R

Ok, it makes sense to me now. indexOf is used on mostly unsorted things, like strings. So, I guess the original problem might use a sorted array, or an object instead of an array, since I think the object keys are sorted and looked up prett

It seems to me that every time anyone tries to do everything at once, they almost always fail. On the other hand I can see how progress is incremental, and we have amazing things after competition and many incremental improvements. Apple is

Hasn't Larry actually shut down and consolidated? The brands article lists also existed before Paige was CEO. Seems like an underhanded article?

I would call the ability not to be misunderstood a very important design requirement. I'm using ES6, it didn't change almost anything for me. Even the official docs say it is minimalistic improvement, just syntactic sugar. I like

Yeah, I meant 'original web app'. Funny, my company also uses Wordpress because thats what the design studio supplied, and we keep it on a completely isolated server for security reasons.

JavaScript is well designed? Of course, 'well' is not very precise. But considering how fast it was created, how many translate-to-JS languages there are, at best I'd call it 'best possible design in 10 days' ( http

PHP will never be obsolete in the sense of, Wordpress and Facebook will never be obsolete. It's good enough for Facebook to not start from scratch. But it's probably obsolete in terms of starting a new website. I started web dev i

I think this makes sense. I've been trying to use react-d3 but I think I'm already getting some friction integrating. The tooltip and point click handling is exactly what I'm working on right now, so I think I'll switch

I've been looking for a chart library to display timeseries graphs and integrate well with react. The best one I found so far is react-d3. Unfortunately, it's still somewhat awkward.

This is not a new problem. You just cant trust an individual, even with a long history. The solution is to have individuals check up on each other. If some users are interested in drawing, other users should be interested in moderating.

How unfortunate then that this is the first negative feeling I have in relation to Erlang. I've actually had limited but good experience with ejabberd, and everything else I've encountered was positive.

I could be missing something but this seems like a strawman rant. Objects are not cages. In C, headers can declare structs and procedures next to each other because they in practice work together, so at least naming conventions should chang

I agree. We've been using OpenLDAP for 3 years now, and it has been a very scary, black magic experience, just trying to get basic stuff like DNS, NFS, mac, windows clients, working. Hoping to move to Windows AD as soon as possible.

Jumping on this wagon. Have been using and teaching Python for more than 10 years and have never seen any weirdness. Python actually warns when there are mixed tabs in blocks.

I've been using Mapnik for about 8 years now, I think, since it was the first alternative to MapServer. OSM has always been using Mapnik, with mapnik styles in CartoCSS for a long time too ( http://wiki.openstreetmap.org/

I have done taxes using the free way historically, on TurboTax. This year, I again opted for 'no charge' option, went though, and at the very end had to pay $104.00 without any explanation. I tried going back but I couldn't
