I see, got it. So, if we look at single core performance, I can see it is much less performant, but does not seem like more than a magnitude. It would also make it more efficient than Intel. Still, overall, would be very interesting to see

Ok, I'm sorry, I haven't been reading CPU reviews for the past... 10 years. Can you explain why I would add 35% on top? What is "miles away" converted to percent difference in operations per second?

Can you explain why 888 will be n-times slower? Assuming, with n greater than 1. I just looked up the Snapdragon performance vs Apple A14, and it is within ~10% [1]. I have also compared it to an intel processor, and it also ahead [2]. From

The article mentions that Docker for Desktop on OSX just uses VirtualBox, but I thought it was using xhyve for some time? Switching arch should be less painful when depending on the OS facilities.

Being “fickle” is kind of hard to apply to a market segment, because it not a synchronized monolith. There clearly is demand for decent machines hackingtoshes make. It’s just that the mobile market is much higher ROI. So, any R&D other

I wouldn't be surprised depending on usage. My Intel MBA 2020 is 4 months old (should have waited ;_;) but CoconutBattery already reports it <90% of design capacity.

The good thing is that Google Maps has switched to a 3D globe view when zooming out. Now even zooming to the latitude extremes, you get a good projection. Thanks to vector tiles :)

How is owning an AWS account easier than a cheap dedicates server? You should have a code repo and backups in either case. At least some people mention "but I can scale this lambda x1000" and that's one advantage... But you c

A state is most of the time a tool for a majority to oppress a minority. Laws and police are just their tools, and so are dictators. Whoever is labeled a dictator is just a figurehead supported by majority of elites, who in turn are support

I guess I could have asked for the CC information, setup a new AWS account, and have them pay for the storage and egress of 1.5TB of data. However, that very likely would have lasted quite a while as well, and in my case I had to minimize d

Very recently I've been in a similar situation with a dedicated server. There was no way to add storage and even getting another server would have been pretty expensive. Luckily it was a raid, so I just had to double the storage tempor

The later part of your comment is about case law, but that’s just one way to do it. On the other hand, German law specifies huge amount of detail, leaving less for interpretation. I agree that all laws are just tools for the people, like th

That’s a good point, and I try that as well when no alternative, but I prefer a chair and a dumbbell before those things because they pull in a specific direction rather than down. But these are not just using a body.

Not really. What’s a body weight alternative to shoulder lift? When I travel and stay in hotels without gym, I use chairs and furniture. However, holding on to them can be really hard and certain exercises are just impossible.
