I don't think they're always called "arcades", but there seem to be quite a few places to play VR games popping up. I've seen multiple in a few different cities now. Here's an example of one in Redmond WA, I th

It seems easier to optimize because you're starting out so far away from the goal, so you have a lot of space to improve. The money you mostly end up "saving" is money that you didn't really need to spend in the first pl

That's not really true at all. Almost everyone uses Google-controlled email addresses, so even if I don't, Google still gets our entire conversations. There's no option to avoid that except just refusing to email almost every

Sure, Google's probably (hopefully) not doing anything "evil" with all this data right now, but are you absolutely certain that they never will in the future? That they'll never be forced to give access to the data

It gets even more frightening if you realize that you're probably not even considering all of the "deeper" levels. Almost everything I listed in my comment was pretty surface-level stuff, where it's at least somewhat obv

Personally, I think Google is just as terrifying, possibly more. As an example, just take a fairly normal life situation like going out for dinner with some friends, and think about how much of it goes "through" Google: --- One of

Reducing the size by ~95% in exchange for a 0.001% error rate seems like a pretty nice tradeoff to be able to make for some uses. The nature of the data means it can never really be "perfect" anyway (there are certainly some passw

One really unfortunate aspect of the passwords being hashed is that there's no info available about their lengths. Knowing the lengths could allow you to reduce the size considerably when you enforce a minimum password length. For exam

It's not ideal, but shouldn't be a big issue, since a false positive just means that you (very rarely) tell a user that a password is unacceptable when it should have been fine. That's a bit annoying for the user, but the res
