Here's how the Japanese high speed trains deal with earthquakes: They have emergency break systems (I think its small ceramic globuli or something of the sort) and a really good forewarning system. 2011-3-11 all Shinkansen were at a halt wh

Integrating, assembling and perfecting existing technologies and ideas is what they are. Interface demos with similar or identical gestures existed before. Capacitive touch screens existed before. These two devices have been big leaps, yes,

well to each his own. In case of the cleanup phase before return I find it to be much cleaner with goto, since usually it's sub 10 lines and you'd have to program a function that gets pointers or objects passed that then get freed/destroyed

One note on your point about changing return behaviour: That's the ONE case a goto is IMO warranted. If I have to choose between a dummy function, code duplication and a goto, I choose goto.

How is HD resolution on an external display the same thing as DECODING IN SOFTWARE a HD flash video? Please keep in mind that Flash decoding is still not GPU supported on ARM devices (at least as far as I know). And concerning a target mark

I actually think that besides performance issues on older macbooks, Xcode has developed quite nicely in the recent updates. At least for obj-C it's a pretty productive and powerful environment. I definitely prefer it over VS2008 and lower,

I've heard about that Nvidia project. I think they are on the right track. The only thing that's missing is enough programmers (und thus software) for this model. As an example (and I'm saying this as a layman in terms of databases) I think

Let's do some math here, shall we. Oil has an energy density of 45MJ/kg. Water has a specific heat of about 4.2 J per gramm-Celsius. So if ambient=20C and heated water=100C we have 4.2*80 ~= 340 J/gramm => 340kJ/kg. These zeolites are c
