Art teacher speaking. The influence of DeviantArt (and now ArtStation) on young a tists is staggering, and not always good. When I was a student, I got my eye candy from the school library, which provided context and history to the art. On

I believe that Livepicture was fast because they loaded the full image as a set of tiles. I also believe that Photoshop was 'inspired' to introduce layers in version 3 in response to Livepicture's layers. It was layers which

Agreed. I would understand such oversight from the 'common press', but from a university I would expect better. Oddly, of the 16 authors, they credit the first and the last, yet authors are usually cited in order of importance. Th

Having slept rough in the middle of London for a short while, I can attest to the value of having somewhere safe to sleep. In my case it was a large, dense bush in the middle of Hyde Park (which I can still locate 40 years later on Google m

We can probably travel the first clear instance of such self expression to the romantic era. Probably Goya who was the Spanish court painter but whose uncomissined black paintings were uniquely personal.

I have seen this more in art house movies and frankly cant understand why it is not a larger issue. I once offered this service to a director I liked, only for him to refuse it. His final subtitles were atrocious.

One reason is that printers inks do not have very dence pigment content. Pigment is the expensive part of paint/ink. Also, printers ink is very transparent, almost like a staining agent. CMKY is basically a variant of the painter'
