Just to elaborate a bit further. The current mayor of Istanbul is the politician who could win the next presidential election and he's been sentenced to a few years in prison and banned him from politics because he "insulted some

I never stated that Starlink has any legitimacy over an elected government. My point is that Erdogan doesn't want his people to be able to communicate freely even in the middle of a catastrophe like this.

People asked Elon Musk on twitter to deploy Starlink to Turkey and he said he can't because it is not approved. I wonder why.

It's FAANG companies who are firing, not your local webdev agency. As soon as they start looking for people and offering salaries starting at 150k, tens of thousands will jump straight in.

Luckily I don't have any problems with my current Dell except overheating but that's a common issue, but after seeing all the problems with the XPS 12/15, Inspiron Plus 16, etc, I don't think I'll buy anything from

Well, they are not starting everything from the scratch. And as you say, you can't have people with different ideas working on the same project. Cosmic exists because Gnome devs have their own roadmap that many people dislike.

I don't actually see the fragmentation here. You can move from Gnome Shell to this without having to change the software you use.

I think Pop_OS! is also a good choice if you want it only the the desktop and not servers. They are doing a great work with their shell on top of Gnome and their own DE is on the way. Even though they are a company, they take the community

I've never heard around here that spying is good when a democracy does it. It may be better than when authoritarian countries do it because the consequences are not that severe, but that's far from accepting it.

While I think reducing VAT on basic things is a good idea, sadly this won't have any impact. Why? It already happened before here. When someone sells something for, say, 1€ and then with the VAT reduction it should sell for 0.95€, they

That's why the first thing you do once Ubuntu is installed is remove snap completely. It's sad that now we have to fight against the OS like on Windows.

It's business for FIFA, geopolitics for Qatar. This is the money spent on the last world cups. QAT (2022) US$229 billion[1] RUS (2018) US$16 billion[2] BRA (2014) US$19.7 billion[3] RSA (2010) US$7.2 billion[4] GER (2006) US$4.9(€

It's Qatar playing geopolitics. They didn't spend $200+ billion because they love football. They want something big to show the world. What better than having one of the best players ever win a world cup before retiring? That'

More in favour of Qatar. They spend 10 times more than the other countries to host the world cup. They want it to be a big hit. That's why FIFA has been saying that this is the best wold cup ever and bla bla bla.
