It is an unfortunate state of the world is that those can use unethical moves to quickly crush others will live to fight another day. By the time the law catches up, they have made their billions.

CUDA is one area that Nvidia really nailed. When it was first announcement I saw it as something neat but could have never envisioned just how ingrained it would become. This was long before AI training/execution was something really o

It is such a classic issue with space travel. One way trip is relatively easy, return trips are WAY more difficult because of the reasons listed. China has a plan to get an orbiting probe to Neptune but nothing about returning Mars samples.

Very understandable. There is an emptiness because it should have never come to this. The last line of Chapter 31 Tao Te Ching sayings it right. "Fine weapons are instruments of misfortune; all creatures fear them. In peace we favor cr

Maybe Assange got too much attention. McBride's attention dropped off almost immediately after he was locked up. More than happy to locked them up unless it creates an image problem. Unfortunately in this country, a whistle blower is a

All around my neighborhood is the graffiti of "Free Assange, Oz hero". Just this morning I saw a large amount of it in a new place. Was thinking "I really hope one day it happens but I am doubtful". And then I just saw t

Something many have to consider. When doing something positive, think about how it can be abused to the negative. It doesn't mean, do not do the good thing - it means consider how to prevent the bad thing at the same time.

A question I ask of a lot of thinking is "What is your end game? Do you have even one?". Not saying you need one but it is a helpful question to get some context. Regarding Win 11, this looks like thinking towards the next quarter

I don't think I have had a Windows machine in my home for over 15 years now. I also have an air gapped Haiku OS Machine for when I just want to get some work done. I did also have a 2011 Macbook Pro until last year, it was used daily u

Louis is spot on with the description. While he was no saint, this was something Steve Jobs emphasized - Let the people know about it and make the decision themselves. Many would probably be happy to do it but don't just force it.

A bit of an aside on this. The last 30 years or so have been amazing for cutting down engine noise levels. In trying to squeeze out ever last drop of efficiency they have also reduced the noise levels. Nowadays the only times I really notic
