I feel like a lot of these systems, while reducing some types of incidents, also cause others. I know the lane-keeping assist function in my 2024 car (that turns itself back on every time I start the car) has a healthy appetite for trying t

I've seen some contestants(?) plane at a slight angle too. I feel like this would also assist with achieving a cleaner result. I know I do this with my own push-style planer.

Thinkpad line from Lenovo. Amazing build quality, and you can order them with Linux. I have a P1 Gen 7 and it’s fantastic. It feels premium, and it’s thin, light, powerful, has good connectivity and 4K OLED touch screen. I’d take it over Ma

Today it's 2.2GB of JSON files, tomorrow it's tens of petabytes of archived data that you need to look through for work. A speedup of 2x is nothing to scoff at. As a broader comment though, this is how we learn and discover thing

I think it's an interpretation issue. When you say it's 45% faster I interpret that as "the new package handles work at a rate of 145% when compared to the original, that is, 1.45 times as fast". I would rephrase your c

Great read. I hadn't even considered that people might interpret "90% faster" as "10 times as fast", i.e., it will take 100-90=10% of the original time. It seems like a completely incorrect interpretation to me, b

Wait, what? That’s horrific! I love my range of lenses for my long-suffering 5d3. I wouldn’t have bought it if the only options were the canon lenses. How disappointing to hear.

No? I’ve been mountain biking for over 20 years and never any broken bones or had to go to hospital as a result, despite doing downhill, trials, and dirt jumping. And I have 20 years of fitness to show for it - that’s about as positive as i

I meant that the inputs from TFA would be easily identifiable as there was no attempt to ‘humanise’ the inputs. If the author had attempted to do so then obviously it’s more difficult (or possibly impossible).

The inputs would form a very distinct pattern that likely doesn’t look anything like what a human creates - I think this would certainly be detectable, although you could also account for this in your program (similar to the ongoing back an
