As others have pointed out, this doesn’t work so well when you have a back seat full of noisy kids.

This is exactly how I use this - I’ve had the UI palette v1 colours as my terminal colours for almost four years and they’re a solid combination. I use RGB 16,40,64 as the background.

Genuinely curious - which ergonomics do you mean? Macbooks have objectively terrible keyboards these days, and the lack of dedicated buttons on the trackpad makes two handed trackpad use a royal pain. Yes, the mouse movement is precise, b

I have a 2080Ti at home I can throw at it for a few days, if you're willing to share the hashes with me? I'm the same username on reddit if you're interested in DM-ing me.

Interesting - I read the parent comment as saying that the XPS was inferior to the X1, not the other way around. I completely agree that the lenovo is a better laptop, for similar reasons to the ones you've mentioned. I think the &#x27

For what it's worth, the T-Series Lenovo laptops can take 32GB and have matte screen options. I'm using a W-series at the moment that has a matte screen, and it can take 64GB, with the latest one taking up to 128. The W-series is

Lenovo offers a next business day on-site replacement warranty that covers accidental damage. It doesn’t get much better than that. I’ve used the service a few times over the past five or so years and it’s been excellent. It really wasn’t t

I’m surprised no one has brought up Splunk in here (that I could see at a cursory glance). They manage to do time-series storage on a pretty large scale (over 5PB/day for their largest customer).

Very true! There's also potential side-channel attacks regarding noise in the power supply (example: https://arxiv.org/pdf/1801.00932.pdf ), so it's definitely not a guarantee of safety. Best to open it up fo

The roadster also has 10,000Nm of torque and a top speed over 400km/h. In the old measure that's 7,375 ft-lbs and 250mph+. Those numbers are simply insane, for anyone who doesn't know torque figures. A Dodge Challenger Hell

I wonder if it'll come round on SpaceX FM? http://www.spacexfm.com/ They have a lot of custom audio for bits and pieces like this. It's a neat little loop though, and I want it.

I'd say Anandtech is the closest we come to this level of detail today, and we just have to hope they'll keep going long term.

It looks like this one only outputs when you type on the keys - you have direct control over the replay speed, rather than having it play back at the speed you 'recorded' at with scriptreplay. Reminds me of hackertyper: http:&#x2

Correct - Casey believes that the drive is impossible, given our understanding of physics. Given his background and credentials, I'm happy to defer to his opinion on the matter, over my own optimism. Both he and I are firm believers o

The benefit of a laptop is that you have a built in UPS. A laptop is also going to consume less power than most desktops. As an aside, if you're after a nice, fast, low power solution, you can also look into the Netgate pfsense hardwa
