I’ve always charged my phone with 1A chargers in an attempt to preserve the battery. My current phone is an iPhone X I bought at release in Nov 2017, and the battery health is still at 89% according to the battery information page. Subjecti

That's a new one to me - thank you very much for linking it. I always hated the dotted zero source code pro has, so this might become a new favourite.

Perhaps surprisingly, Consolas. Slashed zero, great readability at small and large sizes, good hinting for both low and high DPI screens, easy to read/scan in large blocks, very wide support.

Fast charging is typically extremely hard on the battery, so I’m the opposite to you - I actively try to use the lowest wattage charger whenever I can (5W). My understanding, borne out by experience, is that this is far, far kinder to the b

Big Clive also did a fairly comprehensive teardown of the IKEA charger and was pleasantly surprised with the design: https://youtu.be/uRe9w5PKmsE He also confirms that the control chip is a 1699-02.

What a tragedy. I've been very fortunate to be part of the SMW romhacks community for a few years, and have seen bsnes used heavily over that time. It's so sad to hear this news. There are a few prominent figures in the romhack

I installed a virtual camera driver (eg, Canon's EOS camera driver) and set that camera as the default. If any program starts up the camera unexpectedly, they get a giant "NO EOS DEVICE CONNECTED" instead of me partially clo

Call me weird, but I’ve been fascinated by elevator logic since I was a child. I had a math curiosities book that dedicated a chapter to it and after reading that I was hooked on knowing more. I wish my knowledge of JavaScript was more tha

Similar - I was looking for the "Run simulation" button or similar. This seems like something that could be really fun to gamify.

Some basic sorting/filtering can put common feedback topics into groups, letting you see the rare and unusual ones more easily. Much better than ignoring it.

Google has a speed test built in now, which is difficult for ISPs to carve out. Just google for ‘speed test’ and it shows up as a card at the top of the page.

No problem :) it’s a first app! Cut yourself some slack. Nice that you did put in the details too - I just didn’t try clicking to see them.

I’ll give this a try with my wife. We struggle with this. The requirement to log in is a huge deterrent though - why not just use a UUID or something based on the phone? Also, I don’t know if you can scrape a small synopsis and include it,

I agree, although I've never heard them referred to as DuPont connectors ever, regardless of context - this is a completely new name to me. I've always seen these referred to as 0.1" pin headers or just pcb pin headers. Whe

Agree with the sentiment in those bug report threads. The one that grinds my gears is that when you select the URL bar in Chrome it shifts the whole thing to the right, so if you want to edit text you have to reposition the cursor, you can’

Exactly. I use KeePass for password management, and Dropbox for conveniently syncing a set of common files across my devices. It’s a convenience, but not a necessity. That’s worth something to me, but it’s not $20 a month of value. It’s mor

Exactly. The entry-level tier is far too much to entice users in. They need to introduce a $5/month tier with 100-250GB to get people on board. I’d sign up in a heartbeat at that price point, but I can’t justify $20+ a month for some c

I've looked at syncthing, however it doesn't have an iOS app. Regarding nextcloud - it only seems to do full syncronisation like dropbox does. How can I store large shared directories on the server side only? eg, my FreeNAS box
