Exactly right. Anyone telling you it is or is not going one way is crazy. Im simply refuting that "its just like 2000" and showing some strength points.

Thats a pretty blind way to look at this. A shopping site launching in 2000 had a fixed potential audience of X and a MAXIMUM revenue of Y. A shopping site launching today has more than 10x the audience. If you want to discount that, go ahe

Hi, I think I give a pretty fair argument about this towards the end in comparison to broadcast.com In short, yes- Back then the bubble was based on the hype that people were coming. The hype now is that the people are here. Again, compare

From reading the facts in the article, it seems totally unrealistic. Post some dumps of executables, network packets or SOMETHING besides a story. Honestly, this type of paranoia sounds more like someone on the brink of a breakdown. Can you

The graphics cards are the big piece. You pay alot of money to get that firepro label, compared to performance of similar gaming cards with very comparable specs. You could cut out ~500$ that way.

You dont pay state income tax on money you pay to the federal gov. Surprised how few people know that. So on 1m you will pay ~350k to the fed gov- That leaves you with 650k 'net' remaining. CA taxes you on this amount. Hence the 6

The advantage is for high income people, of course. If you make alot of money (or have alot of retirement income coming in) florida kicks ass. As a simple example: If you make 1 million a year and live in a 2 million dollar house. Property

I just moved from SF to Miami Beach a month ago. I loved SF but if you have the ability to work from home as I do, financially it does not make sense to stay. I honestly would have preferred to move to Honolulu over here but the only area I

This has been done before, not sure why it warrants a kickstarter. The Copenhagen wheel has been around for around ~5 years and looks identical to this, sans the GPS. http://www.engadget.com/2009/12/16/mits-co

Uh, yeah. SF may have crime but its nowhere near the danger level of oakland. IIRC, SF isnt even on the "top 100 most dangerous cities" list, but oakland usually is in the top 5. So, yes- Big difference. 10x higher chance to get m

Everyone forgets points/cashback. That visa card you just got that gives you 2% cashback? That doesnt come from thin air. It comes from the merchants pockets paying their transaction fee.

So long as you live in a system called capitalism, yes. Thats the basic premise of supply and demand. If not, sign me up for a place in Aspen or Greenwich though.

Not sure if you are implying there will be 28% more rentals available in 18 months than there currently is, but thats totally untrue. There is about 135k current apartments in SF. About 8,000 new apartments, mostly in mid-rise and high-rise

I really dont agree. Breaking Bad and Mad Men are ending shortly. Walking dead seems to be tapering off fans, turning from less of a zombie show to more of a drama ( each episode is 95% talk, 5% zombies ). The fact is, both breaking bad and

Too bad it's completely impossible to use the service. It takes forever to get verified and even when you do transfers hardly go through. Total waste of time when I tried it a month or so ago.

Either build more housing, remove rent control or have SF no longer be appealing. Those are the only options to stop rental increases. Anything else is artificial and doomed to fail by introducing flawed mechanisms to try and subvert the mo

I am really late into this thread, but the way I got around this exact issue is I just renamed the field from "coupon code" to "referral code". Users dont mind skipping over it and it does the same thing.

The reason for San Francisco's high rent/home price is very simple, despite how others like to complicate it more: 1: Its desirable for most people to live here. Possibly the most desirable place in the USA, depending on your tast

Most important question: How often do you check for new content? A RSS feed reader is useless to me if you will only check my feeds once a day for new content. Bare minimum reall needs to be once every 30 minutes for me to consider it.

I never understood why keyfobs work in a UDP style, when communication between the remote and car would be infinitely better. For instance, instead of just sending "12345" and having the doors open since the code was expected, What about if
