Neither. http://www.kwikset.com/Kevo/ is the most likely winner, seeing as its backed by kwikset. Also, it has a way more appealing (to me) look- No bulky device hanging on my door.

Might be the case for locations in more suburban areas, but at least in SF starbucks does not own/control anything outside its doors. Its usually just the sidewalk out front, with some chairs/tables. I still think the city 'owns' the sidewa

Seems like it would be trivial for the various admins of mailing lists, forums, newsgroups, etc.. to just see what IP "satoshin@gmx.com" posted under. I am sure a select people know who/whom 'satoshi' is I believe the reason for not wanting

The tannery thing is a bad example because its not a inherently illegal activity. Renting out units under 30 days is plain and simple illegal as the laws are written. With that, a much better example would be running a brothel. It is as cu

#3 is incorrect. Short term stays (below 30 days) where you charge rent is taxed, controlled and legalized by the city you live in regardless if you have a extra room or if you live with the guest or not.

Uber is different in that (in my mind) they do NOT break the law, nor entice others to do so. The law around taxi based operations is on 'hailing fares' - Which involves a taxi driving and seeing you with your hand sticking out and picks yo

And for good reason. Rent control should not allow tenants to make a /profit/ on their apartments. The current SFRB law basically states you can only 'pro rata' charge what you charge. So if you pay 1k a month for rent and you are renting i

In San francisco at least, no contract language can bypass rent control provisions. With that, you better hope you are in a non rent-controlled building

The reason this is a issue (in san francisco, at least) is that long term, elderly and protected tenants are getting evicted from buildings with whats called a 'ellis act'. A ellis act lets you kick everyone out of your building with the re

Yep- Thats absolutely the way this should be. Its likely because of a liability issue- The cost of the batteries is so high, there is a real risk of someone swapping in a dead/fake/old one and then tesla accruing the huge loss of a potentia

What did mtgox get in return for promising to hand off their US customers? Whatever that is, I believe that would be about the liability they have in this case.

Most companies doing this are not naive in their design. They want you to come back to the website so you can read it and hopefully be lured into doing something else on site while you are there. I agree for the PSD2HTML example it is silly
