I don't see any shady or exploit-y SEO at Pinterest. Unless I'm missing something the problem is strictly a Google problem.

As far as I can remember they would have to buy AMD, VIA or IBM to get a X86 licence. That's just the beginning though as many later patents are also important, but they would likely also be already licensed by these companies (like AM

VOA and BBC are not alike at all in my opinion. Many countries in Western/Northern Europe have government funded sites run like the BBC and they are mostly in the top of unbiased and free journalism. They also create a lot of high qual

Exploit is likely the wrong word as it isn't Pinterest doing something shady. It is more of a Google flaw and I'm sure Google sees it for what it is and hence they don't de-rank a site for doing nothing wrong. But yes, they c

Not all HN users are US tech employees though. How much US$25 is differs a lot.

I have used the internet since, well, since back when a 56k modem was a dream. I have had zero security incidents via a browser. On the other hand Google collect data on me 100% of the time I start a Chrome browser. "What if" vers

Pissing in pants for warmth IMO. It is still Chromium. Feels like not voting in protest when a candidate you don't like looks to be winning big. The only difference it will make is how you feel, no real world implications.

We have a system like it on phones already. Circumventing it to use a bank app while having a rooted phone is a pain in the ass and oftentimes impossible. Almost all users would not know how to even do this if it was required to use your br

In my opinion this is different. As I see it, in your example, this would be suing an app maker for the closed down app store. In OPs example Google is providing a feature, that you can use or not freely, then the bank dicided to use it. Th

It says a lot that you see an aversion to drama as a bad thing. I have no idea what transphobic got to do with anything, but I'm not surprised someone who apparently has a drama fetish throws it around.
