> Facial age estimation This clearly doesn't work and they're surely aware of it. Perhaps it's even intentional as a choice to give kids a way out, just trying to cover their own asses in regards to regulation.

Unlikely, at most it'll make people start buying cheaper phones instead of flagships.

It's less about productivity and output (those are still desired in many art fields) but more about creativity and personality, more humane traits. Not to say that coding doesn't have those two, but I'd argue developers have

It is the default. You could get localizations OTA, but that's engineering you need to do to make that happen.. or a product you purchase, as there's various localization managers offering these options in their software.

The title is misleading. This is only for packages below 150€.

I mean, they got a class action before for turning on CPU throttling after a major update without informing the user, to "preserve battery health".

I don't think it's a dark pattern with bad intentions. They just didn't account for this feature to be used in this manner. There's another setting to set your work hours and silence notifications out of those.

Brave. It has its own built-in adblocker that is essentially uBlock Origin equivalent, thus you get a nice proper adblock even past MV3. That being a requirement of mine cuts off most other Chromium forks that don't have a plan after M

It's a member-only story, so I can only read the first few paragraphs. Toasts are indeed a problem because they can disappear without the user reading (or listening if on screen readers) to its feedback. So while I don't know what

They all have to make promises and have to dream big to keep the AI bubble from popping.

There is a property you can add to your Info.plist called UIDesignRequiresCompatibility. If you set it to yes, you'll retain the pre-26 design. Apple said they'll only keep this working for a year.

Developers have 1 year to apply the new design change, they're forcing it afterwards. It's not really by choice.

There's quite some competition even in the same form factor, like QNAP, ASUSTOR or even UGREEN which got their product in not too long ago.

Android Studio if I recall correctly has the same license as IntelliJ IDEA Community Edition. Will it also have this "opt-in by default" despite not having a commercial license alternative? Because that'd be pretty scary.

It's a leveraged buyout. They're going to need to pay those billions in debt, so predatory practices should not be stopping.

AppCode was unfortunately extremely limited. Lagged behind Swift versions. No editor for Storyboards/XIBs back when they were ubiquitous, and no preview for SwiftUI. Debugging app extensions or anything that isn't the standard &qu

I agree, but on the other hand, they may also ask less questions because they will rely more on AI, and they will not know when the AI's hallucinating until they've spent a considerable amount of time dealing with a wrong premise.

Yes, but why have all that effort in spinning a web server when I can just give a link to a place where I have embedded the chart? Or even embed it in whatever chat you have that presentation on? Don't need the binary anywhere, that&#x

They were never crippled, there were just no apps making use of that performance at that point, their vision's still the same as it is today IMO. Now there's a lot of pretty good apps for video editing, CAD, etc. Of course we comp

Google has a walled garden as well. Talking to my less techy friends, they won't even consider the thought of moving just because their purchases won't carry over. Even if said app exists on both platforms, you'd have to buy

Chromium will remove the Manifest V2 APIs, and none of these forks want to maintain them. Brave also chose to have their own built-in adblocker. The real question is, why not opt to fork Firefox who is doing that work for them.

Don't like this since it's just asking for code conflicts with any other developer's code and their own build number changes. I prefer setting the number on the CD pipeline. It's one less file to have changes in git.

Until you got to code review a coworker's storyboard. The underlying XML was absolutely horrible to deal with. Simply opening a storyboard without editing anything would also trigger file changes. I'm glad storyboards are gone.
