The funny part is that there's probably zero chance they used Swift 6 for this, because it's impossible to have released Swift 6 without having, you know, actually used the language for something.

What are the odds it'll burn down like OVH's datacenter?

That's a horrible take. This isn't a guide to remember, but a guide to learn. You shouldn't dismiss something as "terrible defaults" just because it has a user interface different from what you're used to.

I disagree with a lot of things in the blogpost. I did feel like Arc had cohesion and a purpose. The problem was marketing. The website had zero information, zero screenshots and zero way to sign-up for the longest time. You had no way to k

You should definitely have to prove ownership of your domain to have it be treated as a company domain. This being the default makes no sense.

VoiceOver (And Talkback on Android) is an incredible piece of software. I'd invite anyone (especially developers) to go turn it on and have a go at the built-in tutorials in the devices, it's pretty in-depth.

There's a lot of ways to sync your notes for free with those said community open-source plugins, including through standard free cloud options if you really want to pay zero and have no server in the middle.

There have been a lot of bugs on Apple's part, that they've been slowly fixing on iOS 18.X versions.

I'd honestly like the opposite. There's several cases in Apple's own apps that ignore the default app you've set for Navigation in Settings and try to open Apple Maps. One example would be Contacts, clicking a location w

Considering Microsoft is closing down on the ecosystem, I'd pick VSCode with Copilot over those two. It's a matter of time before they're shuttered or their experience gets far worse.

You'd have to get every single app developer to implement an Amazon variant of Google Play Services alongside Google's. That's not going to happen, it's already a large problem in China.

Between a dead Combine that no longer functions in Swift 6 or a severely handicapped AsyncSequence lacking basic features, where are developers supposed to turn to? All these projects like Async Algorithms, AsyncExtensions, Asynchrone, etc.

Yes. It feels like the language is being handled by academics who don't actually use it, Swift 6 really drives it down. The lack of Sendable support for Combine and half-assed support on Async Algorithms only makes it more painful to t

If we were in a perfect world, I'd agree, but unfortunately that isn't the case. The cons here are far more prevalent than the pros, as photos and videos will lead to discrimination before the main part of what matters, the resumé

Well at the bottom of the article, they mention that Microsoft first closed the issue as invalid, and on the second attempt they closed it as "cannot be reproduced" (after fixing it). So from that I can imply there was no payment.

For free accounts, there’s a 5 app id limit, and several entitlements aren’t available. It’s far from being true sideloading.

I find it terrible, but it's what we have. Boards works for basic Kanban projects, but if you want to dwell into scrum stuff like sprints, burndown charts, etc, it's very bad and cumbersome. You'll have to do a lot of stuff m

They very much are. V3 support comes with Chromium, and once Google removes V2 from the codebase they'll have to abide. The difference is that it's less impactful since it has a near uBO-level blocker built-in to the browser.

iOS doesn't regularly break these mainstay APIs.. but when they do break APIs, they never backport them, unlike Google. One example of an API where we lost power in exchange for security was UIWebView -> WKWebView. It can end up bei

Hosting pirated content is a liability, and putting it on MEGA helps clear it. Many countries have issues with torrenting such data too, as it's an easy way to get a notice at home from your ISP if you're not on a VPN. I assume ma
