Thanks for the feedback on the web page - we just mapped your comment to a todo list. For our roadmap, we'll be adding more and more chips, and improving the design software so we can generate production-grade designs as quickly as we

Love Falstad. We're hooking into Spice right now for simulations. We will be exposing an interface online, but we're already up and running. You can drop a request on our website for an adapter board design. We like those. It'

Thanks! On firmware - yes it will be automated at some level. In the past we have co-generated low-level drivers to go along with the electronic design. It's pretty straightforward to do when you have the right representation. We don&#

I like that idea a lot. We've actually done a tiny HelloWorld project along more kid friendly lines - I'll see about writing it up (after demo day).

Thanks! Hardware startups are seeing the most benefit right now. We've recently found that we also benefit design teams at larger companies when we design test fixtures, adapter boards, etc.. Removing the distracting work so the layout

It's battery powered; the motor transfers energy to the leg through a spring. So there's also some compliant energy storage (which makes it jump higher). We never ran the robot until the battery ran out. Our longest run was 174 ju

I might have a pretty killer solution to #1. Could you answer some followup questions? My email is in my profile if you want to reach out.

OK, I see where you're coming from. The sandflea is a very practical, application-driven platform, and our robot is just a simple scientific tool meant to test new ideas about jumping. We were interested in the science of the new modes

I think I'd run out of room pretty quick. It hits 4.4 m/s on the first jump so I'd only have room for a couple hops. It would also need a tether to run overnight, and that's a tough proposition for a little robot bouncin

Consider too the publication this research appeared in. Science Robotics is concerned with the scientific underpinnings of robotics, which in this case was the new ideas about how robots can jump. I could slap an off the shelf stereo SLAM s

I'm honestly surprised about how much interest there has been in a landing controller. I always thought it was a bit less interesting than getting the robot bouncing around doing new things. I could see how being able to stop gracefull
