It's only a showstopper for using it for multi-day hiking with no other map system . The watch still has many helpful features outside of being your exclusive postage-stamp-sized map system.

The vast majority of people who walk are those doing long walks or day hikes rather than multi-day hikes. That's the audience Apple is targeting here. That fits my use. I go on 1- to 4-hour walks pretty regularly and the existing Apple

Car seats are a bump in the road, while the cost of daycare, and private school, and college are Mt. Everest. We’re debating the merits of reducing the bump while ignoring the much much bigger issues.

I’ve heard that car seats expire anyway if you are following the rules. It is true that you will probably need to plan ahead and buy slim car seats. But even if you don’t, three car seats is still far less expensive than many other child th

Exactly this. It may be that it’s like this in the US but these are harder to find in other countries.

Maybe it’s different in Europe. In the US it’s pretty easy to find narrow car seats that can fit three across, in my experience. We just went on Amazon and bought them.

Agreed. I’m starting to think the people who are complaining don’t actually have multiple kids.

Mine were able to buckle themselves by at 2.5 or so. It’s not that hard. So even having 4 kids under 6, I rarely had to deal with buckling more than one at a time. Plus IMO 30 seconds is a better estimate than 2-3 minutes unless they are fi

This is a really not that much of a problem unless you have a compact sedan. I have 4 kids. You can fit 3 car seats in the back/middle row of many cars. They make narrow seats for this purpose. In my experience it’s harder to find a go

I feel like those comments about layout are misplaced. It’s like saying “nice motorcycle you designed, but really I need a cargo van.”

Thoughts: - Excellent job - The font choices are bold. They don’t appeal to me personally, but nice job. - The sunk/raised key caps look nice but I’m not sure how they would perform in practice. - I couldn’t tell from the website what

Yes, if you take on the debt after the inflation it does you no good. But if you take loans in 2015 dollars and repay them in 2022 dollars, you are better off in terms of repayment by having a lot of inflation during that period. It doesn

Having debt is not the worst thing in an inflationary period. The inflation reduces the value of your debt.

In the US a prospective tenant who was discriminated against may have a civil cause of action under the fair housing act. They can drag the landlord through a federal court case. I guess the landlord could plead the fifth at deposition, if

You’re wrong. If you want to properly install the seat, it’s going to take at least 10 minutes for someone with practice, and a very frustrating half hour for someone without practice. Latch or no latch. The permissible lateral movement s

This is a great answer. The two college towns near me also happen to be home to all the best restaurants, and are both far more walkable than the nearest city's downtown area. Not sure that the real estate is going to be all that cheap

Office 365 is the answer to this. Simultaneous editing is pretty incredible and seamless, as is versioning and instant save. Trying to hack in some third party solution is never going to be as good.

I love excel, but Access is a nightmare by comparison. It sits in exactly the wrong spot on the power/usability curve. It it's super easy to create a crappy database and hard to make a good one.
