There’s a difference between “what ought to be” and “what is.” I get that you think this project is cool and the authors are doing admirable work. I don’t necessarily disagree there but the reality is this is not legally defensible. It is a

Every conversation on nogil needs to include some dialogue about how it works and what types of changes it requires, both to code and the mental model of the code. I can’t really further consider this or get excited about it unless I unders

I’m not clear on what you mean it’s not thread safe. Arc<> is thread safe.

The way to do this in Rust is to use “unsafe.” It essentially means “trust the programmer that this pointer is live.” I don’t think there is a way around this. You’re dealing with a high-level runtime condition. There are no tractable ways

Package dependency resolution is fundamentally impossible to do efficiently and often broken (for legacy reasons) in specific implementations. Programmers are terrible at semantic versioning. Community package repositories are security nigh

Surprised there isn’t SQLite support. Perhaps it’s in the works. Also surprised this is a native app, would have expected a web application. In any case, compelling demo.

Well you implied that laws against theft are not just. I disagree but disagreement is fine. Just, in what general area of the world do you live? I’m in Louisiana by the way.

So is it your position that we should legalize theft until poverty is solved? In what area of the world do you live?

There are more effective and intentional ways to solve poverty than permitting theft and camping in public spaces.
