I think it is surprising they went with the Instagram branding. Instagram has a better brand reputation than Facebook but I would also say that the brand image is still more for young and fun content, less serious things. Which I would thin

I think it is cool they are developing new tooling. I don’t understand all the negativity. Isn’t it good that people keep innovating in this space? Also how is this different from deploying before k8s and TF etc was a thing? We would write

I’m pretty sure most of the agile hate comes from developers who have never worked in a real agile company/project. As many comments here already mention the majority of companies are just cargo culting. I’ve worked on a few agile proj

(I'm not an economist) Good, point but think of the following example. You have 10 startups and supply and demands has dictated that $1M is a good price for 10% equity. Now let us say a group of VC suddenly have $20M dollars to deploy.

Depends on the organisation, at my last job you could become a senior IC (which does not have any management or mentoring requirements) or you could become a ‘lead’ which is expected to coach the others in the team.

You can access a web version from desktop right? In my experience a web version is more accessible than a desktop version. A significant percentage of desktops are locked down: schools, libraries, internet cafes, corporates, … Is there much

I think it is, the github issue that discusses this proposal frequently argues from the protobuf perspective.

I add site:reddit.com, or simply ‘reddit’ to many of my subjective searches (when I am looking for opinions). It’s not a good solution, but it is better then using Google most of the time. I hope Google sees this and improves there search e

Why do you think ChatGPT will effect employment for programmers? If ChatGPT makes a few more major leaps forward it might be able to make me more productive (it is not even close currently for my work), I don’t see how current AI models wil

I think you’re both right, just don’t put all your eggs in one basket. Sure having office “friends” or social interactions at the office is a good thing but just make sure those aren’t your only social contacts.

Not relevant if you are interested in performance. This go only version is much slower than the cgo overhead. (At least it was a year ago, do your own benchmarks)

The perceived decline in quality might just be caused by a very real increase in the quality of ‘amateur’ journalism. I noticed this both during covid and Ukraine coverage. The quality of journalism that is now available online is in my opi

My complaint is that tech is still super strong and these articles are giving people a false sense of anxiety. Unless perhaps the FANG type jobs, don’t really know about those. But if you are looking to get a good tech job with a reasonable

That’s a stretch, Amazon has been known for bad quality for years. I have actively been trying to buy less from them since over a year now, I imagine others have as well and for longer. This trend was going to catch up with them eventually.
