I do not understand why we have not long ago adopted a national ID. This could be used for voting, for validating work eligibility, for potentially reducing whatever Medicare/Social Security fraud might actually exist, etc. Concerns fo

I can see how this might be surprising for people, but it's also basically how email has always worked -- so it's a bit weird to ding Gmail for it. The address book would need to have two entries for names: one for you to type as

With respect to DeepSeek, I assume you mean the relatively-low cost at which it was allegedly trained? Because the model itself can obviously be downloaded and tested directly.

This strikes me as an odd take. Reddit is a platform that allows users to create and moderate forums. Reddit as a platform isn't blocking anything. Individual forum moderators have always had the ability to delete posts for any reason

In an environment where everyone is quick to point their finger at their favorite villain -- whether that's "wokeness" or climate change or whatever -- I'm happy to finally read something which aligns with my biases.

This change is no less "virtue signaling" than the previous policy; it's just signaling to a different audience.

Is anyone else reporting this, or is there a link to the purported document which doesn't require supplying an email address to The Intercept?

This doesn't seem very consistent with what we know about Luigi. I can't find a Monterey within a four-hour drive of Maryland that's likely to have an aquarium; it looks like his mother now runs a boutique travel agency in a

It wasn't always as partisan in the United States as it is now. It's likely there are multiple reasons for this, but I think one that's underappreciated is that the actions available to us today for slowing or stopping climat

So basically "X" has pivoted: they can't make money by selling something customers want to buy, so they'll spread misinformation with the goal of reducing Elon's tax bill instead.

I think a better explanation for it being out of the news cycle is that it's no longer news, and that there has been no additional information learned since the first 24 hours or so -- other than the Secret Service director resigning,

Maybe I'm missing something, but why would a list like this be stored in Okta vs Twitter itself? Seems sketchy from a purely mechanical standpoint. Tangentially, I find it especially important to question evidence which so easily confi

I'm not aware that Microsoft has a "return-to-office" mandate. Maybe that's only for some employees? I know quite a few people on product teams who are 100% remote.
