You're probably right, as Reddit has or wants to go to the stock market and they need to demonstrate line going up, even if it's fake. Because even fake / generated content gets impressions, comments, upvotes, etc, which is t

If it wasn't essential, I'd tell them to talk to me like a human or else I'd just quit the conversation entirely. Boundaries and stuff.

That's probably to be expected, before that they used covers of popular songs, likely produced by a company that offers much lower rates than e.g. the original artists. I prefer silence over that tbh.

Neat, love seeing people make games for older platforms but presumably with modern tools to get more out of it. More as in better performance or more as in higher productivity leading to higher quality art and / or more content.

It's always best to be portable - always be able to do builds and releases locally (at least, once you get the keys - it shouldn't be possible by default), then add things like github actions on top as convenience.

I wish more news outlets actually stated so - Kyndryl was formerly IBM, has 73.000 employees worldwide. When this news first broke, nobody had ever heard of it so it sounded like some small random hosting company, but it's huge.

Because too few IT capable people are willing to work under the government's pay scales; in most cases going private / corporate earns more. So most Dutch IT projects end up with private companies, which also means that, in the ca

A few paragraphs into the article, the author addresses the "seed oil" misnomer; it's better to keep reading before jumping to the comments to do a knee-jerk comment to a single statement.

I'd work there (if they hired here lmao), they pay good and it looks good on a CV. Or well, it would where I live (europe).

Funny you mention IBM given that it still has its fingers in many porridges (to butcher an expression), maybe not computer peripherals but it's still a very broad company.

Exactly because it's known - malware is only considered malware if you install it without knowing about it. But if you know about it you have a choice not to buy / install it, like with games like Subnautica 2.

You're absolutely correct! actually maybe not ⸻ a lot of people take pride in (re)posting AI generated content, their only human contribution being "I asked $AI". Consider also (but maybe I'm projecting) that people do d

Sure, but the reality is that if it happens abroad there is no legal recourse. Laws are not global, but the internet is. The only real option there is to close the internet. Or to elect me as god-emperor and unify the world under my rule.

Some schools will (try to) do this, but under European privacy and portrait right laws, they have to get explicit permissions from parents first. I think a school news letter / yearbook is cute, but it should be private and only for th

This is the thing I don't get - lots of concerns about water shortages, but for some reason the price of water doesn't go up accordingly. In fact, large consumers of drinking water get a discount. It should be the other way around

While you're not wrong, it's also not an either / or. But yes, any concerns about AI resource usage should be fairly compared against others.

This is an issue though. Netherlands is / has invested heavily in e.g. offshore wind parks, but their capacity has been bought up by datacenters (= new energy consumers) immediately. My point is that if demand only increases, then they
