Do you know any way to style them using CSS without using JS? (and while keeping them cacheable)

That's what my first thought was when reading about the “miracle ingredient”, and I am confused why no other comments here mention this.

Rust: if foo.validate() { println!("{} is the right answer", foo); } This has less parentheses (unless you count the placeholder in the format string). Putting the condition in parentheses like C and friends d

Same with me. I mistrust German intelligence agencies just the same, even though they are supposed to be organs of my government. My stance here is simple: if an institution has something to hide from me (barring personal information) then

They are selling Scale-Out processors here, which IIRC “only” have 4-way SMT (which will, given IBM's track record, still actually give a ~2.5x improvement over no SMT, unlike <1.5x for SMT2 in Intel/AMD)

There was a crowdfunding campaign, but it failed. This new product however can be directly preordered (and for much lower price: the board costs little more than half of what Talos 1 would have and the CPUs they are offering right now cost

Oh I would definitely say that debt is looked down upon in Germany. I would say I have generally owed at most a single (monetary) debt at a given time in my life (or two if you count my employer paying me mid-month as a credit of half a mon

Amazon certainly accepts payments that way. And many other online retailers offer GiroPay, which I think is a payment method based on SEPA Credit Transfer. I don't know about the cost structure of that one.

Given that they're selling systems with AMD cards in them, I would imagine that AMDGPU/RadeonSI at least would very well.

They're already scaling down … in the POWER8 Talos campaign, the cheapest CPU option was something like $1300, the CPU they're offering here is only $300. And the board, because you don't need expensive memory buffer chips an

I applaud them for pricing the board at around $2000 (though with the CPUs it's obviously more expensive). This sits squarely within my budget for a high-performance and trustworthy workstation like this (even accounting for taxes). Ho

That's completely different in Germany, because here everyone with an internet access is legally liable for any misconduct done using their connection. There are movements to change this, but Germany still is the country with the lowes

Depends on where. Here in Germany nobody in my family and only one of my coworkers (AFAIK) has an iPhone, and only two have iPads, while basically everyone I know has an Android device.

How does it work? Pass the return address in a register and have enough caller-saved registers that leaf functions can often do without spilling? Or is there a more sophisticated mechanism?

This is exactly what I like about git and don't like about Mercurial: keeping book about which was what does not matter IMO, and complicates (automatic) reasoning (e.g. bisect) about the development process. What does matter is that co
