After trying out Electron, Tauri, Dioxus, Flutter, and Wails, I’ve come to the conclusion that when it comes to desktop apps and UI, nothing really beats the combo of the JS ecosystem, Chromium, and V8. It's just very powerful and well

Agreed. Maybe we're moving toward a world where LLMs do all the searching, and "websites" just turn into data-only endpoints made for AI to consume. That'll have other big implications... Interesting times ahead.

I'm pretty new in this, but a couple months back, I tried some direct AI code execution in Unity. It worked surprisingly well. Video: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=0xCR4fiyugA So I definitely think the value proposit

I feel that no one can compete with Skia in terms of feature-richness. But performance, it'll really depend on the environment, hardware, and what you are doing. Unity's UI Toolkit, for example, is mesh and shader-based, so it can

[OneJS]( https://onejs.com/ ) for Unity is a more modern entry in this space (Disclaimer: I'm the creator). Instead of embedding a browser/webview, it lets you use web techs and directly integrates with UI Toolkit (

Nope, I think it's a new project. Very confusing for me though because my project is also called OneJS (onejs.com), which is very different and provides Javascript support for Unity.

Tyty! To be honest, Godot and UE have been very tempting. I'm just too deep into Unity at this point. Even I'm surprised that their years of fiascos didn't shake me off. But it looks like things are getting better over there.

I maintain OneJS which provides tailwind support for Unity (the game engine). Whenever I need to show people some code examples in Discord, I always use TW instead of, say, raw css, emotion, etc. This is because TW makes it possible to have

I really appreciate the write-up and showing the most important code snippets. Intuitively, this feels like a narrower version of using Z-order curve.

I also find it interesting that I graduated from Tufts (2011) and took a Philosophy class in 2010, and yet today is the first time I heard about Professor Dennett. I do wish I'd known him and his works earlier though. His notion of con

The biggest problem for me in moving to Godot is the editor tooling. I find the @tool and EditorPlugin workflow to be very finicky. Editor restarts were needed to refresh/correct changes from @tool scripts. And a lot of what I needed t

Just throwing my anecdotes here as well. My 3 Apple products: 1) Macbook Pro 2015: Still going strong to this day. To my suprise, the battery can still last ~30 mins after a full charge. 2) IPhone 6: Camera died for no reason after 1 year.
