Shouldn't the "algorithm" need to be published? Surely someone being held prisoner by a computer program should at least have the right to examine and potentially challenge the source code and data being used.

I agree for the most part, but it's not quite as simple as just having better accident rates. That is one thing, but there are other considerations as well. When there are accidents, are they predictable ones, or is it completely rando

If you want to be able to randomly upgrade those dependencies and not have to worry about a breaking change, then yes. Semver is not going to help you there. Server is only going to help you when someone knows they are releasing breaking

While it is a good example, you could also use the same example and conclude that the problem was inadequate tests. SemVer is great, but you can't count on dependencies that you do not control actually adhering to it, either intentiona

It may be easier to measure the effectiveness (give a confidence level for the prediction), but just because there is clear historical data and defined outcomes, that does not mean you will be able to predict a particular outcome with any h

Interesting that you bring this up. I don't know the answer, but I'll be 29 this year and have just recently started getting some gray hairs. The most prominent are two gray patches right over my temples.

> ...almost half the population of the US voted for Trump Ahem.. almost half the voting population voted for Trump. That is no where near half the actual population. Perhaps being gullible enough to believe your vote will matter overla

While yes, you can simply create a new repo on GitHub with the local copy and name it similarly, it will not be linked to the original as a fork on GitHub.

If they were really confident they would remove the steering wheel altogether. Bonus points for removing the hand brake and pedals.

It would be interesting to see it done with taxi drivers, but they don't typically own the cars they drive, do they? I would have imagined they were all at least making minimum wage after all is said and done.

Interesting. I've discussed this with others on HN previously. Seems this one goes toward confirming my suspicions. https://news.ycombinator.com/item?id=14605111 Now the moral dillema of whether or not to continue to u

Apparently this is an ERC-20 token on the Ethereum blockchain, which means it is (probably) purchased using ETH.

I don't think it was this change that put that to rest. I doubt Satoshi ever foresaw that BTC transaction times and fees would grow so large that you essentially cannot use it for everyday purchases. It is still not feasible to regulat

You go after the exchanges. Don't make BTC illegal. Make it illegal to trade it for fiat currency or vice-versa.

I would agree? Apple pie is pretty good for lunch, but if a clown is throwing one at your face it might not be. Smallpox sucks when it's uncontrolled, but the small amount kept for vaccines is probably a good thing.
