I'm excited to hear about Apple doing something at least approaching innovative, though I'm pretty sure that adding another size to the MBP lineup will just muddy the waters further. Then again, if they replace the Intel platfo

Same here. My wife is still using my old MBP 17" daily. I replaced the HD with an SSD and maxed out the RAM several years ago and it still does everything she needs, and then some. And the older I get the more monitor I need. I hav

That was a nice article but I would have liked to have seen how they compile/deployed the code. Was it in Gem form or a system lib or something else? Was it a separate package altogether or did it build in their CI? How hard was it

AWS recently announced their ground station service[0] to do just this. At the time I didn't understand why they would build such a service, but reading this article and setting your comment brought it into focus for me. [0] https:&#

I also have AT&T Gigabit fiber (through IgLou) and have been pretty pleased with the service. However, I'm fearful that with Google's pull-out AT&T will lose all motivation to improve and will just start raising prices in

Verizon doesn't really offer fiber in Louisville, it does have a presence but its not large at all (~3 neighborhoods). AT&T ramped up their fiber roll-out here over the last two years and have made great progress; I am currently o

This looks like a legitimate product that would really help me manage my power cord. Why isn't Apple doing things like this instead of taking away the ability to manage your power cords?

I completely agree about the trackpad - it is absolutely magical, and every time I use mine I don't even think about the button press not being "real". What I could see them doing is having a glass substrate be the actual ke

I have Google Fi and I'm not sure this is the same thing. The Google VPN doesn't install a root CA (AFAIK) and merely acts like a normal VPN. It does terminate at Google's servers so they can peek at your traffic, but not

Has it really been 10+ years since the "acid" tests debuted? I can remember when these things were the height of the browser wars. I guess I should be glad that we don't really need them anymore.
