What is it about Mojo that drives people to write weird articles like this? I don't remember seeing so many bizarre hyped up puff pieces when Carbon was announced.

A high performance asynchronous alternative to Emacs sounds great, but it feels like the Elisp ecosystem is so massive that I can't imagine everything I care about being ported to Lem. Maybe I could stab at a few myself if I was deter

Without operator overloading, you cannot define arithmetic data types that have a homogenous API with fundamental types. Since math is.. basically all that computers do aside from some IO here and there, that's means a language without

A language without operator overloading is non-starter.

Statically linking libC is problematic in various ways. I really appreciate that Zig has its own runtime that is designed specifically for this use case.

Well, they do have MLIR, which is probably the closest thing to "secret sauce" they've got. I'm excited by some of the performance-oriented features like tiling loops, but they'll need the multitude of optimization-

You probably want posframe along with one of the many options for a vertical completion candidate minibuffer (I like vertico), and a package like marginalia to annotate the options like VS Code. A non-default completion-style like hotfuzz,

By default in Emacs, `M-x` is analogous to Ctrl+Shift+p. Most users like a vertical completion candidate interface for it, such as the `vertico.el` package (among very very many other options). You actually have a ton of control over how th

Compilers can make commutative optimizations with signed integer overflow that is impossible with wrapping semantics. This is why Zig and Carbon both make unsigned integer overflow undefined as well. There is absolutely no advantage in most
