Just today I successfully finished an experiment: An existing web-app with Postgres as the source of truth pushing update events to a Kafka queue. From there, a screenful of Go forwards those events into Elasticsearch. It doesn't solve

Software Engineer / Wantrepreneur. Playing games, wondering how a game gets on the CD. Even though I loved it, a few years in game programming seemed like it was not "useful" enough. Transitioned to general software-, especi

Really really nice. Enjoyed playing around with it. The resulting images are very appealing to me.

Really like the design, especially the search/menu box. It would be very nice to add proper support for tabs, especially when inserting larger blocks of code.

I was thinking the exact same thing when I first read about DRF's Serializers. Also I don't quite get why serialization is always expected to work automatically, at least not in the context of mapping a business layer to an API la

Would you pay for that? In something like a GitHub Enterprise setting, closed source but self-hosted? Something like FB-Groups for organizations of all kind fell out as a byproduct of our startup and we are toying with the idea of trying to

Thanks for clearing that up, makes a lot of sense to me. I too would prefer the single transactor model.

Having only read the abstract: Am I correct assuming this could be used as the core piece of implementing something like Datomic? I have been thinking a bit about how amazingly useful a generic, distributed B-Tree would be, thanks to it

Is finding Clojure people that hard (honest question)? The Clojure + ClojureScript approach has many more batteries included. You get all the benefits of reusing the codebase on both sides of the fence while the language is solving the &quo

Is there a distributed, ZFS-like filesystem usable in clustered production environments today? I'm intrigued by the idea of Git-like filesystems, but am not aware of any great clustered filesystems at all.

Would also recommend Christopher Alexander's "Notes on the Synthesis of Form". Is Zero to One worth the read?

Because I didn't want to add so many layers at once, I just implemented Stores -> ControllerView -> View -> direct Store call. As far as my understanding goes that should be fine for most use-cases. The only reason that really

Thank you :) This was my first real web-project, so I had no idea what to expect. I wanted to get 1000 uniques / month and hoped they would generate around $100+ / month. I'm currently at a tenth of that, so the general ratio was achieved :

http://www.rankique.com/ is a price-tracking site for Amazon. It would probably need a renaming and some SEO-love, as it's currently generating about 5$/month (with zero time spent on it). Was once supposed to evolve into a better product

I learned web-development while making a little price-tracking/wishlist app: http://www.rankique.com/ (and a german version, pretty much for myself to use..: http://www.rankique.de/ ) Together they make about 30-50€/month. I'm working on
