Fair point - there are two kinds of overengineering. FizzBuzzEnterpriseEdition satirizes abstraction for abstraction's sake (AbstractStrategyFactory etc). EnterpriseFizzBuzz satirizes scope creep and infrastructure sprawl - what happen

Couldn't agree more. And with tools such as Photoshop, it's much more efficient to learn as you go after being able to understand enough to navigate around the tool and its basic associated terminology.

Not OP, but I use an app called Obsidian for this. It's my favorite way to take notes and make connections between topics.
