They do have a referral program and you would presumably benefit from that though? I'm honestly asking because I don't know.

That's a great one too! I think I've pretty much watched all that channel as well. It's a great quiet channel to have your coffee in the morning. There's also a couple variations of the solo Japan name which have varying

That's certainly the reason I wrote my own static site generator for my website. I knew I was reinventing the wheel but I also knew the learning results would be immense. I usually work in real-time systems and it was great to have a p

That's generally how I do it as well. One of the positives about remote work is I can go on my general programming slack channel at my work and write out my problem and get better visibility than going around my local area in my office

For some reason I've really started to enjoy watching more or less silent travel journeys on Japanese ferries. So much I'm planning to do a few trips myself. https://www.youtube.com/@SoloTravelJapan

I've recently started reading bluesnews again after a 15+ year hiatus. I love how the site seems to be more or less exactly the same. Runs great on all my devices (crazy I have to point that out in modern times). For those that don

I wonder about that myself as someone who grew up on this. I used webcrawler at the very beginning and I'm probably looking that things through rose lenses but I found what I wanted back then. I think back then in some ways it was easi

Even then I have a small fraction of the followers from twitter than I do on mastadon and I still get way more engagement. Both in numbers and quality. It's not oldschool forums quality but it feels a lot closer.

Isn't that fairly obvious? You need to repeat the work for this kind of stuff. I can say that SRS reading pales in comparison to SRS writing when it comes to learning Japanese.

I've been studying Japanese for years and while SRS reading methods help to some degree, writing is the only thing that's really helped me lock in Kanji. Especially at the intermediate level where kanji not only look similar but a

It autocompletes kanji? That's impressive. At first I thought that might be a very difficult thing to do but I just talked to some friends who are Japanese natives and they said it's easier to solve the issue of similar kanji by u

I'm 100% in agreement with you. After decades I finally settled on my preferred mechanical pencil brand. I'm not usually into new technology but these tablets have brought out a sense of excitement I rarely get. After trying them

I agree. A 4 day work week has been borderline life changing for me. I think 3.5 days might be the sweet spot. The issue is I very much enjoy my work but I find my productivity is the same or sometimes even better compared to when I worked

I can't say I've been able to solve this problem 100% but personally visualizing a very cold environment I'm trying to keep warm from helps. Also keeping the room really cool with ample warmth from sheets seems to help. I

That sounds sublime. I'm currently working for a company that allows me to be fairly flexible with my hours and I've found it's been amazing for my productivity. Some days I wake up late and miss a portion of the work day but

I've heard this same narrative for 35+ years now. Didn't matter if it was a republican or democrat in office. Anecdotally it's usually used when someone starts to criticize our healthcare system.
