People are still more likely to come across a ticking clock than a film reel. Most places I go to will still have an analog clock in multiple rooms.

Hasn't Microsoft been a pretty attractive brand for years on end while being proprietary? You make a brand attractive by offering a good product, good support/service, and then marketing those points. I try to use as much OSS as I

Both Youtube and Spotify allow you to listen for free with ads. But to humor you. Youtube is for video content primarily. Youtube Music is a premium service that costs as much as Spotify does and has a whole lot less content. As someone who

It's a self-hosted Twitter alternative. With the added benefit that the different instances can share posts with each other. So you could be part of one Mastodon instance, but still see posts from others on the other instances.

What do you mean with networked notes? Maybe point me to what you use as well. I'm looking for a note taking tool that allows me to link pages together easily. Similarly to a wiki, but for notes. As far as the physical (bullet) journal

Just to humor you. We develop websites on $3000 Macbooks Pro's. The shitty $300 Windows laptop I see in most households is struggling with a lot of websites. As are $200 Android phones I see many people use on a daily basis. I rarely s

I'm going on a limb here and assume the codebase wasn't as easy to manage back then. They missed a lot of fancy tooling to review it. Also, as a developer (game and webdev), there's tons of leftover stuff. Most of which is as

I ran into a lot of issues with note apps over the years. Tried many, but none really stuck. Until I realized that software based note/planning tools just don't work for me. W An app is hidden away on my phone, and I need to activ

If you write Ruby from scratch, sure. If you work in Rails you have to work around everything being autoloaded on boot. Best bet is to just build modules to namespace your functions.

They do use "apping" as a shorthand sometimes. Dutch people abbreviate a lot. Usually it's "I'll send you a Whatsappie", "I'll whatsapp you" or "I'll app you".
