I like that the focus indicator is separated from the borders of the item, but this raises a problem. CSS doesn't have a way to add outlines separated from the element. This means you have to wrap all focusable elements, and use pseudo

MIT's SPARC has been many times in HN, can anyone knowledgeable tell how does Helion's approach differ from SPARC? Which is supposed to be completed 2025.

Interesting, you use EdgeDB but not GraphQL instead of gRPC? I looked in to EdgeDB and GraphQL seems to be a big part of it. With gRPC and UI side of things I think there is some issues, like no standard way to handle validation errors (e.g

What I like about this is the 40 page limit. He actually considers it a kind of feature, and this arbitrary limit has contributed to his works. One would think that if 40 pages comes to full, the writer would just find a way to extend it, b

I found this amusing myself too. Though, if they have any working relationship, why not point subdomain like forum.kicad.org to Chris's forum? It's cheap and easy, and noticeable who controls it.

How is the compile time? I like Haskell's succinctness, but I was a bit shocked when I needed to compile Haskell IDE Engine (HIE) and had to wait almost 2 hours... That's when I thought, I'll just complete these university co

It makes sense to have single standard. Denmark and Finland use yet another called MobilePay. So there clearly is cottage industry of these by the banks themselves.

Sharpest edge to me is that it's not quiet TypeScript. This means that you can't write a TypeScript file that works in both Deno and regular TypeScript (if you use any imports). Because of the issue that in TypeScript you can'

I like it! I gather now you can compile Elm in the browser? It allows many things, similarly as F# with Fable, which allows to compile F# code in browser without a server. Ability to compile code in browser allows to do sandboxes, or tools

Good point. I think there might be a win-win solution: If DRM degrades the experience so much, they should release a patch e.g. after two weeks (maybe a month?) from release which removes the DRM.

I didn't see it sickening. It seemed like a story from small town politics. What is neat that in the end they did get upgraded poles which lead to companies bidding for a service, and 90% of the city supposedly subscribed to Spectrum.

Only thing useful I can come up is monkey patching without changing the function signature. E.g. smuggling additional data to a function which expects a string like thing. But I think the whole `new String` is problematic, because it breaks

How about in Czech Republic, or EU courts? There is always a way for big companies to fight small ones. Of course one way to defend that would be to have the company be US based or with founding US partners.

I have used Photopea somewhat, but I have thought this is temporary as it's not open source. How long this will be available? If Adobe targets this, it wouldn't be a surprising to see this being bought off and killed.
