Cause at certain age, all geeks go through their Window Blinds period, that's when they keep changing the windowing theme, maybe tweaking the shell. Many find it silly if not a buggy after a while, and years later wonder, why are peopl

I think this is not fully comparable, since it's Scala library. I tried to use JOOQ with Scala in past, it does not feel good solution for it, all that generated code seemed really difficult to keep in order. JOOQ is clearly Java tool

What people want to do with computers is really misleading, ask about virtual reality from people and maybe they don't want that. But when good product comes out things will change, are you going to bet against virtual reality? Always

That's odd. Z has newer codebase according to github, and advertises as "z is the new j, yo" in the top. So I think the reverse is true? Autojump is abandoned and Z is alive?

I've used Eclipse for PHP/CSS/JavaScript for too many years, it is still the only Open Source IDE than can do auto-completion, outline and Go to definition, Go to reference reliably for PHP. But things have gotten to boiling

I think records are better solution than tuples in most cases, they provide type safety, contain the field names and auto-completion for fields. Scala-records makes casting records back to case classes easy. Defining tables as case classes

I'd argue if you return case class with only some fields, your typing is broken. It should return a record when you are trying to get only some of the columns, but I don't find an example of that. Partly the problem is there is no

Structural typing is more natural with SQL. Because of this I wish this worked with anonymous records instead of case classes. You rarely need all fields returned by query when filling UI.

Yes you are right. Scripting time however can be massive, take for instance this hs.fi (Finnish daily), they have 354kB of JavaScript, but scripting time with Skylake 6700K is 1.13 seconds of the page load. With Q6600 it was 3.5 seconds. Wi

I know, and in front-end they are great, I was talking about this implementation from back-end point of view in Scala. This implementation requires one to write schema, that is in many ways (maybe fully) identical to your database schema e.

I think this is trying to be a DB agnostic, but I don't think it's a good way to approach this. One reason is that you have to have a schema defined for database already e.g. using Slick, it should be reusable for GraphQL schema a

Why wait? Atom-Typescript has nightly typescript inside if you want to try it in IDE, and also you can use it from command line by installing nightly Typescript from here: https://github.com/TypeStrong/ntypescript

Way I understand GraphQL is not as a replacement to SQL, otherwise you get hopelessly lost at implementing it. It is in effect a filtering language. You have database view e.g. "user" and you apply it to the given GraphQL and get
