This is my experience with Slack as a PWA in Chrome, or even in a regular tab in Safari. My guess is that Slack doesn't play nice with attempts to snooze background tabs to save system resources.

I only trust three extensions, and maybe that's too many: 1) My password manager extension, 2) EFF's Privacy Badger, 3) Vimium Everything else I run only temporarily or with the option where I have to click to enable it for certai

I don't see how they can enforce this. Nor should they.

Bingo. Stack Exchange could just call an LLM API when a question is asked and show the response. That wouldn’t be near as valuable as their verified index of answers.

Even if the music is low, drunk crowds can be loud enough to impair my ability to hear a conversation.

I really want a successor to the Hear One buds. I was going to wait for v2 to dive in the ecosystem. I'm surprised the company folded. > I nominate the wonderful Here One smart earbuds from Doppler Labs. They had assorted tricks, bu

Shortcat was closer to Vimium for me, so it’s what I’ve stuck with. I wish it was open source though. I’m a bit wary of giving accessibility permissions to such a small close sourced app.

With the push to add AI to every corner of Windows, it seems like the Windows team at Microsoft has been re-invigorated. It's nice to see Microsoft chip away at longstanding issues and not just treat Windows as end-of-life.

My biggest complaint about my OG Quest is the weight against my face, so the 3rd gen being thinner and lighter is great news. As a side note, I miss the Oculus branding. Meta Quest never sounds right to my ears.

It's counter-intuitive, but exercise gives you more energy. Don't wait to hit the lottery to make it part of your life.

Buy a much nicer apartment, and keep doing what I already do for work. When I have free time, I'd take friends and family on lavish vacations.

With the cat out of the bag on these AI tools, the solution will be to have GPT summarize and tag your emails for you to decide if you need to read the whole thing.

This is a normal negotiation tactic on the part of OpenAI. Businesses often say they will leave a jurisdiction or be forced to shut down if X regulation is put in place.

To be more precise, the Notes app could be used as a barebones version of a journaling app, which leaves enough room for dedicated types of note apps (in this case journaling) to flourish. As a platform maker, I think you have to walk a car

Seems odd to Sherlock the daily journaling ecosystem when the Notes App could already be used for the same thing.

We’re human beings, not machines. We didn’t evolve with the capacity for 100% focused productivity all the time. Our energy levels ebb and flow. We have to physically move to keep our muscles and bones healthy.
