Krugman has noted Obama's cozy relationship to the bankers before. Just last week he had this to say in his column about the protests: "The Obama administration squandered a lot of potential good will early on by adopting banker-friendly po

I would have to think people paying the $5 or $10 subscription fee would be listening to more than 11 hours. Why would they price themselves so far under what it would take to turn even a tiny profit?

The thing is that Krugman isn't framing the protests or the current economic crisis in traditional partisan terms. His columns and blog posts for at least 6 months now have continually heaped blame on Obama, Congressional Republicans, and E

As a related point, podcasts (tech podcasts specifically) have made my driving commutes more bearable. Sure, I can't do actual work while driving, but I no longer feel like I'm wasting my time. The result is less stress. Now when my trips a

I don't think anyone is saying banks shouldn't loan money to new and growing businesses, it'd just be nice if they didn't crash the entire economy at the same time.

A hybrid screen is a great idea, but the tech must just not be ready for mass production, especially in the sub-iPad price range.

You're right to say that fast and functional is preferable to pretty, but both are examples of 'design' in the truest sense. Good design really isn't about making things pretty, it's about enablind the user or customer. Usability is goal nu

It's a little much to say design is the "least" important part of a site. Good design can instill potential users/customers with confidence, ease the sign-up or purchasing process, and give the site a personality.

Content changes could require new CSS styles (which would require a new round of cross browser testing), image editing, and cleaning up mal-formed text from an email or Word doc. You also need to factor in how much you should charge to make

The AJAX content loads were slow, the action buttons were too small and easy to hit by mistake, and I don't recall pinching and zooming being smooth either.

Normally I don't think companies should focus on making tablet specific versions of their site (normal desktop pages work just fine), but Facebook relies too heavily on Javascript for the limited power of today's tablets. Edit: I have an iP

I like BBEdit, but I think its age is a weakness. Until version 10, BBEdit felt and looked like old software with many bits and pieces stuck on over time with little attention paid to how they fit together.

The trouble with means testing is that you drain support for the program from the parts of the population with the most political clout. In other words, how long does SS last when rich people get nothing for what they put into it?
