This is an opportunity for foundering companies like Microsoft and Yahoo to differentiate themselves in a positive way and raise the bar for everyone. Apple already did this with their stores and Genius Bars. Buying an Apple device comes wi

As we've seen from scandals at universities around the country, players don't actually get much of an education. How could they when they have to devote so much time to proper diet, practice, and then the games themselves?

I'm not being snarky. Sorry of if it came out that way. You're right, changing the radius is too difficult; I'm just remembering back when creating rounded rectangles was itself a multistep process.

The best way I've found to make rounded corners in Photoshop is by using the round rectangle vector tool. It's relatively new, so you may not have tried it.

Front end development has a few characteristics that make it particularly tough. You have to support multiple browsers (and the old versions of those browsers), as well as computers with different sized screens and input types. On the backe

If a phone call or face-to-face meeting with the client doesn't solve the problem, you should take your contract to a lawyer and figure out your options. Depending on the amount you're owed, it might not be worth the legal fees or time to f

Because the U.S. economy hasn't yet recovered from the 2008 recession. Low demand on the consumer side has meant that businesses don't need to expand and hire people.

The Adobe suite of tools does change, but usually at the margins. Techniques I learned using Photoshop 5 a decade ago still work just fine in CS6. It's a lot like Microsoft Office in a way.

The fundamentals of both (as opposed to fads) haven't changed much over time. Even so, I'd grant that keeping up with the latest tools of the trade in programming is more than enough to keep a person busy.

This is why Instapaper and similar services have a market. We should be thankful that enough of the web is parseable for these tools to work and not stuck in something like a Flash file.

I'm with you. Apple has a history of making UI that's pretty much only useful in commercials and store demos. A lot of the Mac OS X dock is under that umbrella.

At some point Apple is going to need to redesign iOS to better integrate features they've accumulated since 2007. I don't think we're anywhere near that point yet. FWIW, Apple has made tweaks to the look and feel. The "dock" at the bottom o

As always, it depends on what groups and measurements you want to go by. In the United States, median income has been stagnant for 30 years. Young people have been dealing with an awful job market since the recession in 2008.
