Reminds me of Back to the Future Part III: Doc: And in the future, we don't need horses. We have motorized carriages called automobiles. Saloon Old Timer #3: If everybody's got one of these auto-whatsits, does anybody walk or run

This is reminiscent of the tactics tobacco companies used to keep selling cigarettes after research and experience started to suggest their products caused cancer.

I'm all for rent-stabilization going away, if two things happen: 1) We remove building restrictions around the city that keep new taller apartment buildings from going up. Yes, almost all of NYC is developed land, but many parts of Bro

I did a few minutes of research into this. The app banners are triggered by a meta tag, so there won't be a way to block those.

That's absolutely true. I'd also like to add that there is an explosion in ancillary imagery and video that often measure in megabytes. Do we really need all those parallaxed full-screen background images?

Building new tunnels in NYC takes a lot of careful work to avoid damaging the other underground infrastructure and above-ground buildings.

Isn't it possible the Apple flattery is genuine?

That was my thought as well. Why needlessly create the tag collision? It's especially inelegant that Apple suggests defining the tag twice for the sake of other browsers.

Agreed. If it saves you ~30 minutes of time, it's likely worth the $30 unless you're undercharging.

ESPN is protecting their relationship with the NFL by curtailing the independence of their employees like Simmons. That's certainly within their right, but it doesn't make Bill Simmons an "asshat" for speaking his mind.

This may not be within your power, but you should consider removing the fixed header instead. They take up precious screen real space on already small devices, usually in the name of branding.

It's not just marketing emails. I have worked with people that track opens of their emails so they could decide how and when to follow-up with their contractors, clients, and prospective clients.

A backup doesn't help you if the photo is corrupted, and then that corrupted photo is propagated to your backups. You need a way to catch file corruption, like what ZFS and Btrfs have.

The United States is still limited to only four competing firms when it comes to mobile networking, thanks to the limited amount of available wireless spectrum and high costs for the access to that spectrum.

1) Relevance to the search term seems too low. I just did a search for "twitter" on the iPhone app store and six of the top 10 results had nothing to do with Twitter. 2) Maybe you're right, I'd still like to see Apple tr

In Manhattan there are taxis everywhere. Sometimes I'm lucky and get the first cab I see, otherwise I may have to wait a few minutes. If you're clever about where you try to hail from, you won't have to wait long.
